As much as I know the team tends to do the opposite of what they should be doing, I expected more from these guys this week. We started off good then fell off the cliff. Protection breaking down in key moments. The ol' run run screen, missed throws, defense having no clue on how to defend a screen pass, Dak running out of bounds instead of throwing the ball away and losing two yards. It was, a bit much, considering the bye and the obvious adjustments that needed to be made during that period. Where was Cole at? I can't believe it took practically a whole game to figure out he was on the team. Is Rico that bad? We really need some strength up front.

With that being said, there was some things to look forward to.
Gallup seems to be making strides as a WR. Amari is a legit weapon. The run game is there, but inconsistent. Jaylon is making a lot of plays this year.

I'd like to see Collins move back inside. I think he plays that position very well. Williams is getting miscast as a guard or he's still a year away. I would see how he or Fleming would be playing RT. This is stuff they should have worked on during the bye week. Maybe I'm wrong, but what I do know is what is happening now is not working. It would be nice to see Beasley being used. He is a legitimate weapon.

What say you armchair coaches? What would you do to make this team buzz in 2018?

I appreciate you trying to be rational and look for positive solutions but all your gonna get is a bunch of sack Garrett or Linehan or both responses.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm not the biggest Dak fan or Garrett fan, but we're here. This is what it is and probably will be for the remainder of the year. A head coaching change would be nice, but that's not gonna happen. Not with Garrett. Going from Dak to Rush or White is not a rational thing to do. Dak is the one that gives us the best chance to win of those three. The offense really needs to be tailored to his play style (designed runs, no more 5 step drops, quick releases, better route designs). They always seem to get away from his strengths and continue to jam the square peg through the hole. And it baffles me. I don't get it. It's a stupid design. The opponents D will be weak against the run and they'll air it out, or they'll be weak in the middle and they're running fades all game. It's, crazy.

Look at our history after any type of bye. If only Jerry could see what the entire world sees.

Just bench Collins.

Seriously, the guy has one nice pancake block in his career. Otherwise he has been a massive liability.

He makes 7 million a year which we gave him for no other reason other than he was supposed to be a first round pick. The thinking was players would see how we treated him and would come here to play.

It hasn’t done anything.

He sucks. A good coach would bench him for the next game.

On to week 10. As Garrett LITERALLY said after last nights loss, “we did some good things, really did some good things in all 3 phases of the game...”. So, I guess all we have to do is stack some good days on top of other good days and continue to fight and we should be ok. Oh yea, no need to make adjustments, just every man win their battle and we will be fine.

Year 8.

Yeah...every week for 3 years during my hour drive to work call in after call in on the LSU sports radio show complaining about this guy and lack of consistency and playing to his perceived potential. He's always been an underachiever and always will be. I was a bit shocked when he was touted as a 1st round prospect. After the last 8 games last year I thought maybe he had finally figured it out. Just another mirage. At this point what you see is what you get. I dont think benching for a game would make a difference as he can't focus long enough to match his abilty!

I think the guy is better playing left-guard and having Fleming or Williams play RT would probably make the line a bit better overall. JMO of course.

I hear ya Sarge. I'm a fan though. I can move on to the next week. Garrett is the head coach who needs to be held liable or show some semblance of being a head coach and worthy of his job. With that being said, what is he suppose to say at the mic? It is what it is, coach speak. He needs to prove himself Sundays on the sideline. Talk is cheap. We need some action.

That's what you get when you hire a HC that was probably a paste eater as a kid.
