#22 will be a CB if one of the guys we dearly love is available
#28 will be a RB because RB's always drop on draft day, and we will find very good value here.
However,
If two or more RB's we like are still on the board (say Stewart and Jones), then
#22 is probably a CB
#28 is a RB
I believe WR will be addressed in round 3 unless Jason Garrett wants to run certain packages of plays and sees one of the rookies that others see as a flawed non-blue chipper and sees that he can be a huge impact in certain situations. Then it could all change.
We all need to remember that just because we see certain players who had better careers in college and better write-ups in draft reports doesn't mean that our team sees them having an impact in the schemes they want to run on defense or the packages they want to put in on offense. We have a very good team...now our coaches are tweeking it. There may be RB's (for one position) that we don't see as good all-around backs to replace MBIII as others, but the team may look at a guy like Stewart and say, "He's not going to bring us anything special given 10-15 touches, but maybe _____ will be huge for us in the packages I want to run to rest MBIII."
The same holds true for players we may view as lower rated by what we've seen on their college teams and in reports, but maybe our coaches love the skills they bring to what we want to do.
I'm really exited about our first day selections this year...we may or may not get some real future stars, but we have an opportunity to add 3 or 4 guys (if we trade down with one) who can really contribute to our success in their rookie years.
I can't wait for Saturday...this is actually more fun for me than wondering if we'll take Merriman or Ware at the top.
