Im asking this on these forums, hoping someone can help me. Everytime ive asked a question you guys have come through so here goes.

Acouple days back i couldnt go on the internet, i checked my network connections both said connected... no one else in my nieghborhood was having problems. So i unplug my router to check, if it would work just going from my modem to my computer. It didnt, so a day after i tried again and it did. So i go to plug my Linksys router back in, and it says limited to no connectivity. I figure i just have to "refresh" it so i hit reset but nothing. What do i do, i want to play ps3 online.. suggestions anyone?

unplug the router and then give it a good fifteen minutes or so. Then plug it back in.

Linksys routers always need to be cycled or whatever you want to call it. Also you right click on the network icon in the tray and click repair.

Linksys routers dump the signal for no apparent reason all the time. At least mine does, I am constantly restarting or repairing my wireless network.

you can also call linksys, they have pretty helpful tech support.

Smash Linksys Router

I had nothing but a horrible experience with a Linksys router..

Bought a Netgear router and it works like a charm no issues in years.

I use linksys routers for work and home with very good results. The only failures I have ever had were power surges or spikes.

As for l&l's problem you could do a factory reset. Look on the back of it and use a pen to press and hold the reset button in for 10 seconds. This will reset it back to the defaults like when you first unboxed it. It may not fix it but it would reset any change you might have accidently made.

Another option is to make sure you have upgraded the firmware. You can download that from the linksys site.

I went on there site and it said if the light over the power is blinking your firmware is corrupted you need to download a new one. So i did, its done blinking, but i still cant get it to work.now my orange light for my cisco systems is lit, what does that mean? also ive been hitting the reset for two days, its worthless. When i set this thing up it had a start up screen, why cant it just revert to that. ON the side it siad hold for 30 seconds.. idk i cant get this thing to work.

If the firmware upgrade didn't fix it might have just gone bad. How old is it?

But the light on my power stopped blinking. I posted my problem on the linksys forums, if i dont get an answer linksys is getting a pissed of call.

The firmware is a binary code file so it won't be recognized. I don't know if they have a warranty but you might be able to get a new one.

You have to connect to the router to upload the firmware most lynksys routers default IP's are 192.168.1.1

You will have to plug a network cable from the pc directly to the router goto the Internet browser and type 192.168.1.1 if you will get a prompt for a password and login. Enter the default password since you did the reset button should be in the manual or you can get it from there website.

There you goto a tab called firmware and upload the firmware tot he router

No, it doesn't. You have to make sure your computer is plugged in to one of the numbered ports not the internet port.

Since the sledge hammer is out of the question, did you try kicking it?

Other than resetting it after power outages I really don't have problems with my linksys router.

Best thing I could suggest is to unplug everything, modem, router and all.

Put in the install disk.

Follow the instructions closely.

One other thing I am wondering.

Is your main computer the one having the problem or is it a second computer that you are trying to use with the wireless router?

If it is the second one you can remove your network connection that is currently there.

Put the router disk in.

There should be an easy setup option.

This is where that orange button on the front of the router comes into play.

I think you have to choose the easy setup option from your install disk and then hold that button for so long.

After that the other computer should find the connection.
