Roy injured...X-Rays Negative, Just a Sprain

Weren't the Detroit fans warning Dallas fans about Roy's fragility, after the trade?

Then he had the toe problem when he got to Dallas. Now he's getting pushed around by a 5th round, 2nd string CB (from a non-BCS school, no less  ) who doesn't seem to be hurting any of the other WRs in practice.

Does anyone really believe he will make it through the season in full health at this rate? When he starts taking regular shots from guys that do want to hurt him?

I am not holding my breath on this one.

Incomplete diagnosis for Roy Williams
Posted by Mike Florio on August 27, 2009 10:56 PM ET

A source with knowledge of the situation tells us that X-rays on the collarbone of Cowboys receiver Roy Williams were unexpectedly negative.

Multiple sources tell us that the initial diagnosis was a broken collarbone. One source tells us that Williams himself told multiple teammates that the collarbone was broken.

For now, Williams has gone home for the evening. He'll ice the area, and the team is expected to conduct an MRI on Friday.

We apologize for jumping the gun on this one. We assumed (***-you-me) that the information was based on an X-ray, and it's our fault for not ensuring the proper degree of clarity.

So it's good news for Williams and the Cowboys.

Unless the MRI shows a break.

What a roller coaster ride. Here's to a speedy recovery!

He's obviously a fast healer. He broke his collarbone a few hours ago and now it's just a sprain.

It's football. I was flag playing last night and landed awkwardly on my shoulder as I made the tackle. At first, I thought it was broken. But, it seems to be ok now. Yeah, I know no one cares except my wife. Yeah, I know I don't play WR for the Cowboys.

Point is. It's football! Players bump into each other every play. Ligaments get torn and bones broken. Expect injuries. Don't cry about it.

Roy also never lifted weighs before this offseason.

Weight training does wonders in regards to staying healthy.

Then again, maybe not...

On the Miami/Tampa Bay game, Troy just said that they thought Roy's collarbone was broken but now they're getting reports that it is just a sprain.

The funny part is that Joe Buck started immediately talking about how great Roy Williams has looked and how much Dallas would be hurt if he can't play.

Buck didn't have a damn nice word to say about Roy until he got hurt. Then suddenly, he's a good WR that we can't win without.

That's the only way the media would get off of Roy's back.

Boise was a non-BCS school that beat Oklahoma.

Naw man... I appreciate the info. Knowing that you initially thought it was broken and now it feels A-OK is definitely some good information.

Glad you posted it.

PFT has no sources .. they have a bunch of people scouring wire services and message boards trying to beat everyone to the story... sports version of wwtdd.com it's gossip and a bunch of loser posters with absolutley no life hitting refresh 1000 times a day to see florio's and rosenshal post some "breaking news" story and add there negative spin , that just cant wait to attack with rude , ******** comments .. like they there being forced to comment and see who could say the the dumbest thing..

Buck is such a beating. He's bad enough normally, but in preseason it's even more obvious how bored he is. You can almost see the thought bubble... "I wish I were at a baseball game right now."

Those are the G-rated thoughts, anyway. The other ones are about Troy.

I'm still sore about that trickery.
I hate Boise as much as anyone, but to dengrate Scandrick and Roy by saying Boise isn't a legit team is foolish imo.

Ya my friend said he sprained his collar bone and thought it was broken which explains why Roy told him teammates that it was. PFT probably heard that and ran with it.

I agree.

I just hate that OU lost on a trick play. Line up and play some real football. :D
