Roy Williams was on the Jim Rome Show today. Nothing earth-shattering, but this is what I can remember:
-- Roy said that he and Romo "didn't talk at all" last year. Roy said he saw all the drama going on and saw the pressure Tony was under (he was talking about Owens wanting the ball, but didn't really come out and say it) and decided Tony had enough to worry about. So he never approached him.
-- He said he felt like he was "out in left field" last year, but now feels like he's "at shortstop" in the middle of the action. He said he and Tony have a great rapport now, as evidenced by the touchdown play. Roy said he changed his route from a post to a seam when he saw how the safety was trying to cover him, and Tony immediately picked up on what he was doing and threw a perfect strike.
-- When asked about the absence of drama this year, he said it's been good, but that the local media is usually trying to make something out of nothing. He said that's just part of being "America's Team" and he's fine with it.
-- He said they really want to win for Jerry this Sunday because it's the first game in the "house that Jerry built." He wants to score the first regular-season TD in the stadium, and said he will keep the ball if he does. He said he usually gives the ball to a kid.
