Finally saw some results tonight, with a great open field tackle on Chatman on third down and the late-game INT.

Don't have much else to say, except that there were 18 threads killing him last week and none praising him this week. I think an analysis would reveal that he played very well.

I posted a thread praising him.
At the very least people should say he played better than last week.

I think we started them simultaneously.

yep, he played a good game today...he also got pressure on the QB on at least one blitz I saw him on

he's a great player, but he's gotta be put in a position to make plays...we saw more of it today...he's at his best within 10-15yds of the LOS

i agree my boy roy came to play and was put in way better situations today.

he was able to make plays this game rushing the passer and stopping the run and even came down with the int.

He's alot better covering the short field knowing his assignment than having to babysit a cb not knowing what the cb is gonna do next

Well when you can't find anything to ***** about, then you sit back and suck lemons.

For the most part, Roy played solid...and didn't seem to get beat by anything major.

Roy did have a good game today. Period.

If we're going to bust on him when he's bad, we have to slap him on the back when he is good.

He had an interception, a "quarterback hit," a pass defended and a key tackle short of a first down, and he snuffed out a reverse for a loss of 5 (although he couldn't finish off the tackle). That's a pretty good game.

I'm not forgiving a missed tackle, and Roy has too many of them. But the reason he missed that one is because he had to make a super athletic play just to get out of the block and to the ball carrier, which resulted in him being in a weird angle. But the move was effective in stopping the play, and was something not many players would do.

Yep, I thought Roy played a solid game this week, and I was one of those dog piling on him last week. The play on the reverse was excellent, despite losing his grip on the runners legs. He held the runner up a long time which allowed other players to get there. The best part of the play was he shed the blocker and made a decent hit and semi-wrap up on the player. THAT is what I expected last week on that play we were all debating where Roy danced with the guard. This play this week looked far more difficult and Roy made the play.

Roy did have one of those "almost horse collar" tackles today. I guess he got the jersey and not the pads. The thing that stood out the most was that Roy seemed to have better timing today and was in a better position to make tackles and hits with players closer and in front of him. Better angles? Better position? Better scheme? Not sure. Worked well though.

Henry sure rebounded well too. He deserves kudos as he got ripped last week as well.

Makes all the sense in the world to have Roy playing Rover/LB in the pass packages. Put Hamlin and Watkins deep and let Roy be Roy.

Thank goodness Phillips see's the advantage this gives us and takes Roy away from chasing fast WR's vertically.

I think he'll be a lot better when we get Newman back.

But I agree.....good game by RW today.

His hitting people wears opponents out also. On one Blitz he got under the RB's ching and delivered a helacious hit (Brown) who later had helmet off. I speculate he may have been concussed on that play. 4th quarter I was in and out and not sure if he rentered game.

The entire defense got better from week 1 to week 2. Let's hope they keep improving.

This is true, but we should tap the breaks. I know that the Giants didn't do anything against the Packers, but their offense is still worlds better than Miami.
