Roy playing the rover role...

The best part of the play was he shed the blocker and made a decent hit and semi-wrap up on the player. THAT is what I expected last week on that play we were all debating where Roy danced with the guard. This play this week looked far more difficult and Roy made the play.

I don't think it was as difficult, because last week he had to worry about outside containment, and the runner went inside. On this one, he was on the outside, and the runner came outside. But it was a nice job of taking on the blocker, then making the play.

Roy did have one of those "almost horse collar" tackles today. I guess he got the jersey and not the pads.

It can't be a horse collar from the front. He grabbed the runner's jersey with one hand in the front and one hand in back, and pulled him down face first.

The entire defense got better from week 1 to week 2. Let's hope they keep improving.

I thought the run defense was better, but despite the picks the coverage was still shoddy for most of the game, and Trent Green wasnt knocked down very much

the Dolphins have a lousy OL, so there is defintiely cause for concern

He played well today. He is the awesomeness in short and intermediate coverage. Deep coverage however...........

Everything in this post is true.

I think the coverage was a little better, and I have seen you post the same I have elsewhere, that the coaches are doing us no favors playing 10 yards off the LOS. I know we are trying to play zone because of the loss of Newman, but we need to man-up sometimes, our corners do better with that it seems.

This is what I have been saying for 2 seasons now... short and intermediate man to man and small zone coverages he usually does just fine to OK. Bigger zones and deep coverages is where he struggles.
