Roy shutout...

To have ZERO doesn't suprise you? Not a little? In 2 games?
Either 1) Teams are running away from him 2)We have the best LBers and D-line in the league against the run or 3) As you said, he is switching with KD and staying waaaaaaay back.

Too bad the Cowboys draft has WR & DE written all over it.
Spears.......Canty.......Ratliff.......Hatcher........who are you going to draft and upgrade the DE position?

Against 2 teams that have a VERY good GROUP of recievers to defend, I wouldn't call it surprising because I'd expect him to be back in deep coverage for a large majority of the game against those teams... especially with Keith Davis and Coleman as our safeties.

I wouldn't call it surprising... a little unexpected to have ZERO but I wouldn't have expected him to have very many tackles in those games unless they were having success passing against us and he was tackling people after they caught it.... fortunately for us, that has not been the case against Carolina and AZ.

I should have been clearer big dog. I meant a stand up DE who is athletic enough to make that transition the way Ware and eventually Ellis did.

A Gaines Adams, 6-5, 250 (Clemson) or Quentin Moses, 6-5, 250 (Georgia) type player.

Or hey, maybe Carp can grow to be that kind of player, but he just doesn't seem to be a double digit sack player to me.

I hate to think about going into next season with Ware being our only legit pass rush threat.

The original post asks if teams are running away from Roy. For our "In the Box" safety to have 0 tackles in 2 out of 3 weeks is rather strange, don't you think?

Ask anyone with any knowledge at all and they'll tell you they'd be overjoyed if their safety didn't make any tackles.

As long as other teams aren't breaking runs into the secondary, safeties don't get tackles.

And no, teams aren't running away from Williams, they just aren't running very well period.
