Roy William haters

nice INT on a poorly thrown ball... he's a playmaker in that he takes advantage of dumb plays (ie. McNabb game last year) but his "coverage" is not great i'm afraid.

Ive tried to think of a way to explain it like you just did. Nice post.

he's doing this while being a high quality individual, one of the faces of the franchise, and a team leader.

he's very underrated, I still can't believe people think Polamalu should be the example for Roy pfff

I swear, it's always something with Roy. Half the people on this board wouldn't be pleased if the guy got three picks, three sacks, two touchdown, and three tackles. I can just hear someone saying, "Well, he should have scored on that other play, and he didn't make enough tackes. Besides, they weren't great throws that he picked off, and he was unblocked on the blitz..."

Give me a break. The guy has proven to be one of the biggest playmakers in the entire league, and he all but ended that game tonight. He's shown all season that he isn't the liability in coverage that many make him out to be, and he's doing this while being a high quality individual, one of the faces of the franchise, and a team leader.
:hammer: exactly..

and you know what? Ed Reed has been getting beat like a drum.. check out a Ravens board to see how they think he has lost it.. Polamalu gets burned and juked and misses tackles regularly.. Sean Taylor has given up a ton of touchdowns.. and Roy has better stats than every single one of them..

I don't think Reporters or fans who critisize Roy watch even Ed Reed or Brian Dawkins games etc. other than highlight reels. They never watch the TDs those guys give up on regular basis.

Roy is supposed to be superman, never make a mistake.

only if he didn't jump over the o-linemen vs texas that one game...never would have been called super man lol :D

One pick of a Delhomme floater and suddenly he's a great cover guy. Please stop it.

Yeah, no other "great" cover SS make plays when the opponent ***** up to pad their stats.

hell, ED Reed has made a career out of it LOL

I repent, you're right per usual. That was one hell of a year....:lmao2:

what do good players do? They take advantage of oppertunities.... if the ref wouldn't have been blocking him this would have been his 4th interception on plays that look oddly familier, where the ball is thrown up and he comes running accross the receivers face to make the pick, he's a freaking safety what do you people expect for him to line up in man on man coverage against steve smith? The guy isn't the best at taking angles or coverage but he is good all around. Nobody can be perfect at thier position on every play of every game. Just so happens when a safety or corner screws up it's usually really big.

While I agree with you, you're putting way too much effort into a weak thread. Anyone doggin Williams has a vendetta. He's catalytic. He makes plays. He hits hard. FS is our concern...not SS.

Excellent post in every aspect. And I can't just "hear someone saying" that, I think I've read it on this board a few times. Or close to it.

He has been in on six turnovers in seven games. Yeah, that's making a few plays, I'd say.

Wow. If EmmitnRoy and AdamJt13 hadn't pointed this post out, I might have missed it...spot on.

did you see any of the people he was guarding open last night?

I knew this would come up. One pick and suddenly all of his coverage gaffes are forgotten.

Fortunately for Dallas, Carolina didn't run many crossing patterns with the TE that Roy had to cover.
