Does anyone remember how much Roy Williams weighed coming out of college? I know he has to be one of the biggest safeties in the NFL today.

At the NFL Combine, he was 6' 219lbs...only 6lbs lighter than he's currently listed at.

That's interesting. I had no idea what his combine weight was.

Few weeks ago, I posted an offseason plan for Roy, I thought the team needed to impose on him.
First order of business was to slowly reduce his weight to 219lbs.
Just felt that should be the max playing weight for him considering his height and build. He does not play over 219lbs.
Once he makes weight I felt weigh-ins twice a month would be reasonable.

Saw an interview with Shannon Sharpe a few years back. He was discussing his workout regimine and DIET! He didnt eat much and it was a year round thing for him. What impressed me the most was his commitment once he hit 30 to maintain his speed and quickness.

The deal was to come into each years camp one pound lighter with a lower boby fat. Thats a serious statement a serious goal.

Thats what we need from Roy. He needs to commit himself to being in the best shape possible.

I have a feeling what he is listed at isn't his weight.

Roy looks at least 225, it would be nice to see him lose 8-10 pounds.

I think hes bigger then that. Not as big as he was like 2 years ago when he couldn't even tuck his jersey in but probably closer to 235 or 240.

Roy seems to be an instinctive player who has natural ability and doesn't see the need to work out hard or practice a lot. That's why we see him doing the same dumb things year after year without getting any better. In fact he has gotten worse each season because his natural ability is being impeded by his lack of fitness.

We've seen this happen with a lot of guys over the years. If they don't have that fire to work out incessantly then they usually don't last very long. Guys like Emmitt, Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, Jackie Slater, Clay Matthews, etc lated a LONG time because they were always pushing themselves to be in better and better shape every year and to work on their technique to make themselves better players. We don't see that same drive from Roy.

If it doesn't click with him soon then he will be relegated to backup status before too long and out of football shortly thereafter as I don't think he has the heart to play the game simply for the love of it.

So much potential and ability but no heart to go with it. :bang2:

I saw a picture last night in a 2005 Texas Football magazine of Roy and he is at least 15/20 pounds heavier now.

Roy needs to be taken out somewhere and shot. He is a disgrace to every Football player who ever played the game.

I think we should all boycott watching a Cowboys game until he is no longer alive.

Yeah Roy has to be playing at around 235 this last season. He is pretty hefty and that was with some weight loss last offseason. He needs to try and get back down to that 220 pound range but I'm skeptical as to whether he cares to put the work in to do so.

Roy The Dough Boy

If he gets close enough, he'll Horsecollar ya. If not, then he'll point at a teammate as his guy scores.
