Roy WIlliams Coverage Abilities

for all the hate our OL, bledsoe, romo, akin, and others are getting, roy needs to be talked about as well. his cover abilities as a safety are average to below average most of the time. we used to be able to get away with it, but with guys like keith davis and pat watkins next to him, we're getting burned for huge gains at critical junctions in games. roy takes terrible routes to the ball and does not make enough plays on the ball when hes there. it seems at times hes going for the big hit to jar the ball loose rather than just deflecting it.

even in shorter one on one coverage with wrs or tes he commits too early and gets beat like with shockey tonight for his td. i know he has two INTs this year but hes really got to step up as well. as for watkins, the kid looks scared out there at times when the balls in the air. he needs to use his leaping ability and knock some of those down.

The entire secondary is having coverage problems.

I'm not going to bag on roy.. He's been playing well.

That big play today was all watkins and if it wasnt for that ref roy has a INT.

The TD pass to Shockey was roys fault. But come on the D didnt pressure Eli at all...The secondary can only do so much.
