Per Pete Prisco (CBS Sportsline.com staff writer) just this past offseason.

I wonder if idiot Prisco would consider himself to be WRONG on his assessment of Roy Williams?
Roy Williams:
Leads the ENTIRE NFL in takeaways by a single player... with 7
5 Interceptions... which would possibly land him tied for 1st among ALL SAFETIES. (waiting for stats updates on other players)
2 fumble recoveries
11 pass deflections (at least 1 pass def. in all but 1 game)
only 3 TD's allowed thru 10 games (compare that to 7 TD's allowed by Sean Taylor thru 9 games)
The only thing that's missing is tackles and sacks... BUT, with how good our defense has been, there's been no need to have him helping in the box and blitzing much because our front 7 have been handling that job just fine.
Stats for other safeties:
Polamalu - 3 int, 1 sack, 1 FF, 7 pass def.
Reed - 2 int, 1 TD (from teammate handoff), 1 pass def., 1 FF
Sean Taylor - 3 FF's, 3 Pass def., (0 sacks, 0 int)
Brian Dawkins - 1 int (from Bledsoe ), 3 FF, 6 pass def.
Is Roy Williams STILL to be considered OVERRATED?
So who's the league's most overrated? There are a lot of name players to choose from, but the winner is Dallas Cowboys safety Roy Williams. He isn't nearly as good as his reputation, which is Lone Star big.
Who's in the background, eating Santana Moss' dust? Why, it's Pro Bowl safety Roy Williams. (Getty Images) Williams played in his third consecutive Pro Bowl after the 2005 season, but he certainly hasn't performed to that level. Williams is a good hitter when in the box, but he struggles in coverage, which is why teams were able to exploit the Cowboys with some big plays last season.
Anyone who saw the Cowboys blow that Monday night game to the Commanders saw that Williams can be trouble in coverage. The Commanders twice threw over the top of him for fourth-quarter touchdowns.
Sure, he makes those highlight hits. But for every one of those, there's two misses in coverage. That's not good enough.
There is no way he's a better safety than Adrian Wilson of the Cardinals or Sean Taylor of the Commanders, two players who should have gone to the Pro Bowl ahead of Williams.
Those two, by the way, are among our 32 underrated players.
