Bengals reach one-year deal with Roy Williams

3/13/2010 2:33:55 PM

Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports via Twitter the Bengals have reached a one-year deal with S Roy Williams.

Williams, who will be entering his ninth season, started four games and had 30 tackles with three passes defended, but he missed most of the year due to a recurring forearm injury suffered in Week 3 against Pittsburgh. It was the same forearm he injured in 2008 with Dallas.

The Cincinnati Bengals reached a one-year agreement to re-sign safety Roy Williams Saturday, according to his agent, Jordan Woy.
Williams and defensive tackle Tank Johnson were two of the primary free agents on defense the Bengals needed to prevent from leaving in free agency. Johnson signed a four-year deal earlier in the week.
Williams came to the Bengals last season after being let go by the Dallas Cowboys.

Man oh man, talk about a guy falling off a cliff.

He showed huge potential in his first season and went into a steady decline from that point forward.

I hear he was also still battling 3rd degree burns that he sustained in Dallas.

So RW 31 is currently employed ...... but Shawn Merriman and Terrell Owens are still looking for work.

I know a certain poster who must hate this.
