Roy Williams returns to practice, proves he's a coachable QB

Roy Williams dressed out for today's practice, sporting a pair of shoulder pads that he appeared to borrow from an offensive lineman. Or he might have just had extra padding underneath.

The XXL pads didn't prevent Williams from putting on an impressive display of arm strength and accuracy while goofing around during warmups.

From 20 yards away, Williams drilled the crossbar with three consecutive throws. He also threw some go routes in passing lines. Apparently, somebody mentioned that he underthrew a ball. He led the receiver well on the next pass and puffed out his chest a little bit.

"I can get it out there!" he hollered, loud enough for the media standing about 60 yards away to hear. "I'm coachable!"

As far as his full-time WR job goes, Williams was able to lift his left arm (the one with the bruised shoulder) over his head to catch a pass. We'll learn later whether he was limited once the real action in practice started.

It sounds like he knows that RW might have been getting a dig in on him and is just passing it along. He didn't say anything negative.

Don't get me wrong, the only thing I appreciate about Tim is his play by play descriptions of practice at training camp. But I see nothing wrong here.

Seriously, we could about train a monkey to go to camp and report back what he saw. The only think keeping anyone from doing it is having the $$ to get there and the time off their job to do so.

Lucky for little T, that is his job... which, as I said, a monkey could do.

The monkey would smell better, have better manners, and be a whole lot cheaper.

Thats actually pretty cool.

I saw a video a while back where a dog was born without front legs so it just used two. Stand right up and get runnin on two legs. Craziest thing I've seen from a dog in a long time. I'll see if I can dig up the video.

Here it is.

True, but we don't have such a person and none of the other mediots do it as completely as he does. And it does give us something more than vague reports about how players are doing in camp. I read every one of them from beginning to end.

It's his other stuff I can't stand.

I read it start to finish, too. But you, I or any poster from this board (ok... not any, but most) could have done just as good without the daily "coachable" and misguided effort to be cute.

IMO, readers shouldn't be able to pick out which players a writer likes and which one's he doesn't. With Little T, it was easy to see which guys he had an axe to grind with.

I just got tired of it... and I'm not a guy to typically hate on media members. I don't really talk bad about JJT and I don't give Mickey a hard time... but Tim is just awful.

Maybe Breer ruined me. :(
