Let's say a highly regard player named Roy Williams entered the draft, and he fell to our pick in the first round. Considering all our problems with Roy Williamssss would you not want to draft him based solely on the fact that his name is Roy Williams?

Same OP as the new NT thread?

I don't know about Roy Williamses but you're making it real hard for future posters called therat

The first two looked great once upon a time, too. Both made Pro Bowl early in their careers. Our 1st RW made 5 Pro Bowls in a row. The key to both of them is they didn't fall apart until they got their second contracts.

I say we play it like Detroit - draft him and then late him play out his first contract which will jack up his trade value. Then no matter how much you are tempted to re-sign him, trade his ****ing *** to the Lions - we owe them one.

I would trade 2 first round picks for the North Carolina basketball coach, and a 4th and Barbie Carpenter to the Bengals for the other Roy so that we could have the complete set.

Well, he's showing signs. And he'll keep Austin clean when he finally learns things. I say he's a keeper.

No, I would not draft him.

Why???.................Because we dont need anymore freaking receivers, we need to draft O-LINE so we stop getting blitzed 50% of the time.

:laugh2:Oh, yes, let's draft players based on their name and not on their play. We should scour the country looking for players named Bob Lilly, Roger Staubach and Demarcus Ware. Names like Phil Pozderac should definately be black listed. And let's bust the bank to sign that guy named Cornell Green on the Raiders.

Can I start a "Roy Williams" thread, where on the inside I type the lyrics to my favorite Metallica song?

It's about the only thing that hasn't been done, regarding #11.

Luckily, any college player named Roy Williams can follow Chad Johnson's example before entering the draft. Problem solved. Of course, that player's gonna be highly upset if his favorite jersey number has already already been taken by a player on the team which drafts him. It'll be even worse if that player has a Reggie Bush mindset and thinks he can get the jersey number of his choice.

If he wore 31 my Jersey would be relevant again! *fingers crossed*
