Roy Williams

He deserves every bit of criticism that anyone wants to weigh on him after that drop. Made me sick to my stomach, nearly.

Almost as worse as Crayton's drop against the Giants?

I was made but it did not cost us so there isn't any reason to harp on it imo.

Roy Williams is playing like a number 2 guy.

And his numbers are fine for that role.

The drop tonight sucked but we won the game.

I am dissapointed because I thought he was more ..... but I am still happy that bigmouth is gone ..... he is not doing any better.

What about that contract Williams has? WoW. I know we probably will go uncapped next year, but that contract SUX. I wouldn't want to pay it. He has been flat out invisible and only benefits from the others.

His numbers are fine for that role but his contract isn't... I doubt we would be so hard for Roy if we didn't give up so much for him.

This team is a good receiver away from being an offensive juggernaut. I kept watching this game and thinking Deshaun Jackson..... Can we please get a Roy slant? Or a hot route for that matter.

That's what he got on that 3rd downer and the pass was perfect and he still dropped it. He just isn't very good anymore.

There you go showing your intelligence again. If big mouth was here I'm sure his stats wouldn't look much better than Roys. Holy stupidity Batman

You could say the same about Folk's miss since we still won the game. What does it matter that your players can't make simple, crucial plays even when they are gimmes?

The contract is irrelevant.

He isn't playing well enough to be the starter. I'd rather have Crayton out there.

Folks inability to kick has zero to do with Roy's ability to catch. It becomes foolish to attempt to pile on Roy after he has a drop, yet hold your tongue when he has a good game.

Roy is still a good player and can and will help us win. Folk's struggles may have sealed his fate. I still think he hasn't fully recovered from surgery but right now, we need some one that can make the chip shots.

Here's what I wrote last year about Roy Williams:

If you really believe this, you don't know Roy Williams. Any Longhorn observer from 2000-2003 is completely unsurprised that Roy has turned out the way he has in the NFL: talented, but unwilling to put in the work to be great. Why are they unsurprised? Because he was the same way in college. It's easy enough to miss since he was so vastly superior athletically to the competition that he put up monster stats anyway, but go back and watch any Oklahoma game from that period and you'll see a Roy Williams that looks very much like the one wearing #11 today.

You can hope all you want that a healed foot, an offseason training with Owens, or a full camp with Romo are all that stands between Williams and NFL greatness, but you will end up disappointed. Roy is Roy, and what you see is what you will always get.

well said ..... I have said that many times but the homers on this board only watch the ESPN highlights.....RW was not explosive at UT or in Detriot....and it he has proved very little since arriving in Dallas...Jerry Jones has a problem...seriously over paying for a true #2 WR......RW is who he is...a position reciever that can move the chains....not 1000 yard reciever .....that everyone expects......

Roy never really has great games.

There are some games when he makes a few catches because teams slant their coverages so much the other way to try and contain Miles and Witten. However, most games he even fails to accomplish this.

I try to hold my tongue because I know how much it irritates the board to constantly have negative Roy threads running so I promished to cut down on the bandwidth devoted to the topic.

This offense will become much better once Roy's role is de-emphasized and even better when his sorry *** is finally released. He is an overpaid, lazy, egotistic chump.

Roy Williams needs to drop the losing mentality he's hanging on to from Detroit! Dallas is ready to take a step in the right direction and he needs get it together!

I'm not anti-Roy at all. I'm glad we have him. I don't think he and Romo have ever found a groove together. While it's true all receivers drop balls (T.O. sure did), the problem with tonight's drop is that it was at such a crucial point in the game and it was a fairly easy catch. He just has to catch that pass. I'm not giving up on him. I still think he's talented enough to make a difference. He does, however, need to step it up and start coming through in crunch time.

Lol at the homers having people worried about speaking their mind. Say what you feel man. ROY SUCKS! Keep the chant going and maybe Jerry will bench him.
