I wish I understood why this is getting so much coverage. Tired of listening to this BS. Who cares.

I'm with you here. I'm just glad that it didn't interfere with Lockup like the damn Zimmerman trial!

It's happy news. Prince William seems to be a good guy & everyone loved his mom. It's just something to celebrate.

I hate royal families. They serve no purpose, they don't work, they live without generating anything valuable.

I was born to a regular family and I have to work hard to deserve everything I have now. I don't understand how Brits don't go crazy. They work and pay tax and their taxes are used to buy diapers for this Royal Baby.

Thanks God, we are on this side of the pond.

They cost at most 100 million pounds or so a year, nothing in the overall scheme of things. The Royal Family is a unifying force for the country. Yes they are largely irrelevant but still they are a symbol of the country.

Hell many have opined that the Americans love of celebrity and the Kennedys arose from fact you didn't have a monarchy and needed something.

Unifying? Can you please elaborate? English doesn't like Irish, Scottish hate English etc etc, What type of a unifying force are we talking about? Does miserable Brits pay taxes and their taxes are used to buy adult diapers for the Queen. Man this is so insulting. Thank God I am not British.

It works out to about 2-3 pounds per person, the cost is meaningless.

Well Britain has had a monarchy for centuries & I've not read or heard where that is likely to change.

I think it's cool. The Queen seems pretty active for a woman in her 80's.

If the European countries who still have monarchies ever held elections on whether or not to abolish it no one with the exception of maybe England would still have monarchies. That's why there will never be any elections on it.

There's nothing quite as insulting as seeing some royal in a 2 million $ dress in a starving African village talking about how we need to give more when her dress alone could feed said village for a year or 2

I see your point but they aren't going anywhere & the Brits seem to love the pomp of it all.

I like all that. It's just something different from what the US has. Just the history of the royals is interesting to me.

If it makes them happy, so be it. It irks me that Americans get so caught up in the lives of the royals. Funny how the French helped us win our independence from GB, yet today we hate the French and love the Brits.o_O:rolleyes:
