I was at the game but got there just a couple of minutes late.. Just a quick question about something I missed: was Roy's int for a TD legit or were the refs correct to call it back? was Newman's penalty the real deal and did it affect the play (would Roy still have intercepted it and ran it back still)?

Thing is if the guy made the catch then newman wouldn't have been called. He didn't so it became a foul. Kinda BS if you ask me.

We've had some great ones this year.

"It was not a hold since the player ran through the hold."

"Move unnatural to football."

That play sets the tone for the entire defense and the whole game right there.

No wonder Newman isn't up for the game or agressive after that call. (no excuses though, you just have to fight through and do your job)

One of the most unbelievable calls I have seen this year and it does not get a single replay on Sunday that I saw on any of the shows.

Pitiful!

Almost as good as 3rd down and 5 'and 3 inches'.
I don't know how these guys can keep a straight face, anymore than I know how a player refrains from going ballistic on these jerks.

They're having way too much impact on the outcome of the game.

Let's put it this way: if it had happened to the Commanders, Joe Gibbs would have tucked the film into his pants and crawled over broken glass to hand deliver it to the league office. Before the game was even over.

What was the unnatural move call? I should probably remember and it does ring a bell but, hey, a lot of things just ring a bell these days with me...

they called d.ware for move unnatural to football. I forget which game but he pointed to an offensive lineman that moved and ware got called for it. I am not into conspiracy theories really but I think jerry musta ticked someone off.

Okay. Now I remember. Ware supposedly barked out faked offensive plays or something like that, which is supposedly against the rules. That might be the only legitimate one on the list. The T-New call was bogus as was the run through the holding no call.

I just don't see ware doing that, call me naive but of anyone on the team I don't see him trying to cheat. Actually to be fair I don't think anyone on our team would cheat other than an o-lineman trying to get away with a hold.

Another sad thing about that penalty is the officials huddled up for about 30 seconds to decide what to call after the ball was tipped???
Like I said before Newman did not lead with his helmet, It was a BS call. The penalty for hitting a defenseless player is VERY VERY inconsistent, and mostly called only against Dallas.

I still can't get over that call. The ball WENT OFF OF THE RECIEVERS' HAND, he gets hit and Newman gets a personal foul penalty for hitting a "defenseless reciever"?

The only thing I can think of is that the officials didn't see that Furrey tipped the ball. Could Parcells have challenged that play?

I guess defenders have to wait for the reciever to catch the ball, get on the ground, and "make a football move" before they can hit them.

I agree. The play however could not be reviewed. It is a judgement call.
