Why do we not run this offense more? We ran it in the 1st quarter and looked like we had offense again. Then we went to a traditional offense and went back to no offense. Then it seem like in the first quarter we decided to get back to RPO to score again.

Why not run the offense Dak is more comfortable with? Eagles run a lot of RPO and its how wentz looked so good last season. Dak being able to beat defenses with his legs needs to be a weapon added to our arsenal. (yes Dak needs to learn to get out of bounds or slide though). Have defenses worrying about zeke running, Austin with the reverse running or Dak keeping it and passing or running.

Dak has issues with the passing game.

Doesn’t matter what play you call.

We all can’t be the Eagles of last season. Their play calling was brilliant.

I could’ve been a Pro Bowl Qb. Foles and Wentz had wide open guys all day long

Im waiting on them to realize dak is better throwing on the run.... i mean the seahawks literally roll out wilson just as much as they keep him in the pocket

Our coaching staff don't understand the concept of adepting to one's strength or Zeke would have more than 15 carries a game. Heck he should have at least 8 or more in the first quarter along.

The Giants game was just an opportunity to run a test on which style works better for us.

Teams figured that out about Dak.. They rush to keep him in the pocket now. That's why he bails out the back, which is the worst thing a QB can do.

Dak is terrible from the pocket.

They want to develop Dak into a pocket QB. Tried to hard in the first game. Went back to it more in the second game and had success. They don’t want Dak to get hurt running the ball. They don’t want a rg3 thing to happen. Running QB usually end up getting hurt. But that’s what it takes to get this Offense up and running.

RG3 wasn't quite as bad as his rep, but he was a reckless runner & too quick at giving up on his receivers.

It's part of the JG/Linehan mantra. They are very conservative and once they get a lead, they go into their usual, play not to lose mode, the playcalling gets less dynamic. It will probably be more of the same, now that we have an improved defense. They were to content to trust our defense in the past to hold, even when that trust wasn't warranted. I hated that idea, of giving up the short stuff and contain and hope the other offense makes a mistake or make long drives.

Ironic that you mention Wentz.

How many games has he missed with an injury...

I agree. He seemed to be developing into a better passer than Dak at this point. But the jury is still out and Dak is showing improvement from week to week. Hoping it continues.

Thats where the coaching staff has to gameplan to fool the defense .....everyone knew elway was the greatest scrambling qb and tried to defend it but the coaches found creative ways.....i know our coaching have some creativity in them

The RPO does not work consistently in the NFL. That's why no one does it all the time.

Plus, it will get your QB killed.
I believe there is some confusion here.

RPO and Read option are two different things.

RPO is a called run where the QB is watching a specific defender, if that player abandons his zone and comes forward to play the run, the QB can keep the ball and throw it to a receiver in that area.

The read option is a called run where the QB reads the weakside edge defender. If the player stays in his gap, the RB gets the ball. If the player crashes down towards the RB, the QB keeps the ball and runs to that abandoned gap.

If Dak is running with the ball, it's a read option.

RPO will look more like a play action pass.
