I put together this draft the other day and figured i'd post it here to see what everyone thinks. Im assuming for this mock that Fairley and Peterson will both be gone by our pick at #9, because, well they most likely will be. So for this mock i trade down in the first round to the mid to late teens and pick up an extra second rounder.

1st round- Gabe Carimi/Derrick Sherrod OL

2nd round- Cameron Heyward/ JJ Watt DE

2nd round- Mike Pouncey/Stefen Wisniewski/John Moffitt OL

3rd round- Rahim Moore/Duenta Williams FS

4th round- Kenrick Ellis NT

5th round- Casey Matthews LB

6th round- Owen Marecic/Bradie Ewing FB

7th round- Nittany Lion Mascot PSU

...and that is RTH's stone cold lock of the century.. uh da week.

I've read Casey Matthews (brother of Clay Matthews) could go anywhere from the late 1st to the 3rd -- which is exactly what they were saying about Clay Matthews about this time before the 2009 draft.

Casey isn't as athletically, or physically, gifted as Clay so I don't think he's a first round prospect at all. LB's taken in the 1st are typically pass rushers or supremely gifted athletes.

I think right now his ceiling is the 3rd round, and I personally wouldn't take him that high.

I'm a huge Casey fan too but also a realist. If he somehow manages to blow up the combine (which I don't think he will) then maybe we can talk late 2nd by some team that loses its mind over him.

As far as the mock in the OP, I like it.

You got a lot of my favorite guys in there in Casey, Kenrick, Pouncey/Moffitt, Heyward and Carimi. I'd be very happy with this, but I really don't want to draft a FB. I want to roll with Gronk.

Wow, i had no idea he was rated that highly. I saw 4th-5th round on a couple draft sites, and 3rd round on some as well. Hadn't realized he had first round potential though.

If he lasts until the 3rd and im the Cowboys, i'd definately try and trade up to get him.

Would not complain if the draft went that way...except maybe the 7th round pick...there are there mascots I might be more interested in. :D

I like this mock better than most that I have seen. Not bad. Not bad at all.

I would love for the draft to fall this way but I do not think that Watt and Moore drop that far. If they do it is a steal.

You see Watt as a first rounder?

I've seen him projected as a first rounder a few places, but I have my doubts.

Yea, i think he could easily fall to the top of the 2nd round to us.

I'd say there's a good chance either he or Heyward would be there. Deep draft for DE's.

Those guys are both 1st or at worst top 2nd round picks.

Mark my words

Cameron Jordan or JJ Watt will be the first 3-4 end taken (Jordan may get drafted as a 4-3 LDE), but as I've been saying, I'd settle for Clayborn, Heywood or Bailey

There's so many good DE's in that range of the draft.

Kerrigan, Jordan, Watt, Heyward, Clayorn, Bailey

I expect either Watt or Heyward will be available to us with our early second.

Looks real good RTH.

I really would love Ellis to land in Dallas. He'd really clog up themiddle. But with so a lot of 3-4 def in the league, I suspect he goes a little higher.

Maybe 3rd rd.

Nice draft.

Thanks canada..

Yea i suspect we may have to trade up for one or two of these guys if we really want them, but for the guys i listed i'd look into it. If it didn't cost an arm and a leg i'd love to grab all these guys.

..probably the only time i'll ever "thank canada". :D
