How is this an improvement to the 80 man roster if the player was added?

If Romo goes down the season goes down. That's the case of pretty much every single team with a top QB.

Vince Young won some games when he had a stud defense behind him and did enough to not lose. Its the same way that Tebow seemed to win games with Denver that one season. I'd rather keep a Young guy who might be able to be something then pick up an old guy who was a little something years ago.

The player relied on athleticism to get to the NFL, not on the field thinking. The athleticism has eroded some while the decision making part of the game has not shown any improvement in the players' last few stops.

Training Camp roster is 90. The deal is that they could use someone better than the two Jags they have at #3 and #4 so that the WRs actually can be evaluated.

I agree with you.

All reports show these guys to be terrible, limiting everything the team can do in the passing game.

Why that should be acceptable to some, I don't know.

Young would cost little more than a roster spot currently occupied by a player with little or no chance of making this team.

Say what you will, but Vince Young had the talent to accomplish what he did in college, be drafted in the first round, and to be a starting quarterback for several years.

And all outward indications have indicated that he has learned a lot since then, both on and off the field, and that he has looked like an improved player in his workouts.

From a risk/reward standpoint, I see little risk and the potential for great reward.

So why bring in Vince Young? Dude threw at his college pro day 7 years after he left to show that he's now trying to learn how to throw a football correctly. I believe he has a higher INT% than any active NFL qb and can't read defenses. Unless you want to evaluate receivers catching crappy passes I don't know why you'd want Vince throwing to them. He throws a nice deep ball, that's it.

This would never happen- it would cause too much of problem. That read option is real and very hard to stop.

Try reading the articles, particularly Broaddus article.

I actually like the idea of Jumungous Russell better than I like the idea of Vince Young. Though, I don't like either idea.

It isn't acceptable, but that is a different issue. Bringing in Vince Young wouldn't solve that issue as he is not an accurate passer and doesn't know the system. There is not nearly enough information to draw the conclusion that Young has changed his way and greatly improved. There is no great reward there.

I will agree to disagree.

None of the scrubs win no business playing at he NFL level knew he play book prior to arriving either but that was not held against them, so I don't think it's a valid strike against Young either.

And there is no guarantee of anything by signing him.

If he doesn't look great, play great and act great, he's cut no questions asked.

I have no problem in bringing either of those guys or Leinart for that matter. (That is if Russell is off the syrup, I have heard his weight is down) Just take a flier on someone to replace one of those two at the end of the depth chart.
