The jury is still out on Hitchens. In fact I heard Nate on the radio on Friday saying that out off all the players he came away most impressed by him more than anybody at camp. He said that he just needs to play. And play a lot.
Hitchens has been a tough one to analyze for me. He's made some plays. Coaches seem to be high on him, but at the same time think he's got a long ways to go. I'd say that's probably par for the course for a 4th round pick if the guy hadn't come in with so much disdain swirling around him at the outset.
I wasn't high on him from what I'd seen of his college highlights after the fact, and he still looks pedestrian to me what little we've seen of him in Dallas, but it's encouraging to hear scuttlebutt that the coaches or that former players seem to like him so far. It'd be really helpful if he could develop into a player, and soon.
