Anyone watching any of the games in the rugby league world cup? Note RL is a completely different sport to rugby union (what most people call 'rugby'). Different number of players etc.
Always thought RL is the closest thing to football in the mid 1800s - before Walter Camp introduced the forward pass. Has many of the same things as football e.g.
- Stop/start like football i.e. downs
- Has downs - in RL you have 6 to score (they call them tackles).
- Each play starts with a center snapping ball between his legs to a player behind.
Like looking back in time.
