News: ESPN: Aaron Rodgers plans to sign with Steelers, sources say

At 20M...nah.

The hate the guy gets is mostly from owners...he knows he had the talent to bend them over the barrel and did.

His attitude stuff was years ago. He seems to have same attitude as Troy, whom this board loves. Aaron is willing to chew out teammates for mistakes...or used to be willing.

I don't think he carries that fire anymore.

All those celebrity golf tournaments he does...he seems fine to be around. Sure...there are cameras everywhere....but two alphas that played in the same era and kne over shadowing the other....Brady and Rodgers get along great playing golf.

Maybe Aaron is like Rick Carlisle behind closed doors....will curse out the team facility janitor unnecessarily. But I think that fire might be in the past.

I'll give you his demands might be un-pleasant to teams...but if he is trying to win and the demands are reasonable to his and the teams success.....it's not that big of a deal. What? Is demanding an OC he likes or WR he likes that big of a deal? Don't coaches bring their preferred staff with them? Why can't the most important position in the sport ask for some things?
Feel free to tell yourself whatever you want.

Why?

Teams don't like him because of his ability to negotiate?

They don't like his scientific approach to negotiations that conflicts with their objective...so they bad mouth him.

Dude is undeniably a top talent...and at 20M. If you don't have a line...maybe it's not worth it.
Probably cause he’s gonna turn 42 this year, isn’t more than a year-to-year rental, and nobody in any clubhouse wants to hear about his latest vision quest or whatever paint he’s been huffing this offseason.

Hey, you provided a good argument

He is a short term rental. (Most likely)

20M is a lot to spend to tutor a younger QB. (If Pitt even has a young prospect)

So, he is win now or a short term tutor. That's his best use.

I know nothing about Pitts offensive weapons, line...or their overall chance at competing.

Who cares about his off field stuff. If it is giving NFL media talking points to fill air time...who cares. Is he asking to be on tv/radio...or are they asking him? Who cares anyway.

Agreed. He is washed up. He is over 40 years old and blew an Achilles recently.

He’s not the same guy.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say he’s washed up. He did have just under 4000 yards last season with 28 TDs on a bad Jets team. He certainly isn’t what he was but not totally done yet. However, he could be after this season.

But he was why the Jets team was bad. The Jets were a 500 team until he got there….

I think the guy is a paradox for this board.

Checks all the boxes, SB winner, and is faster on his feet today than Peyton or Brady ever were.

His age doesn't mean a thing if he has an arm. He's a pocket passer.
