Am I the only one that feels like all of these rule changes that have taken place in favor of the offense have made it too big of an advantage for offenses? It seems like it is just too easy to pass the ball these days. More and more teams like Dallas, GB, Indy and NE are able to drop back and pass at will, it is getting to the point where teams with good QBs dont even need to run the ball anymore if they dont want to.

Very much so. They might as well put flags on wrs and qbs these days.

There is no way any wr nowdays could have played when they allowed bump and run all over the field.

There is no question it is almost impossible to defend the pass these days, but the only rule change I would make is tweaking the pass interference call. 15 yard penalty for basic P.I and spot of the foul on intentional fouls which prevent a td.

Defensive players are scared to play physical with a QB anymore. I saw one example where a player pulled up when he could have hit Kitna--but he was clearly afraid that he would get called if Kitna was able to get the pass off.

Ware has been tentative in the past when he got to the quarterback, and it looked to me like he finally said, "forget it, I have a quarterback in my grasp and he may or may not have thrown it, but I'm going to finish the play." That "roughing the passer" call on him would have been a routine play in the 1980s--that was certainly allowed. It happened to Danny and Troy all the time.

They need to let defenders get away with more contact down the field, other wise eventually it is going to turn into the arena league and teams are going to throw the ball 80% of the time.
