I try not to get invloved too much w/ rumors, but Mike Moyock mentioned the possiblity that Jonathan Stewart could have toe surgery and could be out 4-6 months.

Do you all think this will drop him in the draft?

If so, should the Boyz still grab him late in Rd1 if he were there.

I know, it's all speculation. So apologies in advance.

Seriously?

maaaaaaybe think about it with our 3rd rd pick if the rumor is true.

Never in a million years would I use a 1st round pick on a running back coming off toe surgery... never ever ever.

I agree. That was a question, not at all a suggestion....and obviously much would depend of the prognosis.

Anyway, i would like us to take Chris Johnson in Round 2 if he's there.

I think he'd still be worth at least a 2nd, probably even our 2nd 1st rounder. I'd rather have him coming off toe surgery than someone like Felix Jones or Jamaal Charles.

IMO, it's like taking a QB coming off finger surgery...

Very Risky move

I agree, take hjim at #28 if he's still there, we can afford to wait 4 months cause we got Barber and would be a steal at 28, I don't care about missing 4 months, May/June/July/Augst ready for opening day and will only be splitting time with Barber anyway, no need to rush him back or give him a heavy load till he's 100% anyway.

Even if he is, I don't think he drops out of the first because of it.

I didnt want him anyway because of the style of offense he plays in...until I see spread option skill players start having some positive impact I am going to remain very skeptical about them in terms of NFL success, especially the QB's and RB's from that system

That's another thing I don't understand about college teams, why would you run a system that puts players at a disadvantage from the get go?

I mean I know a coaches job is to win college games, not groom pro players, but if I was a recruit with dreams of going pro, I'd avoid those gimmick offenses like the plague.

and I think thats going to start happening real soon...once kids see it costs them if they dream about playing in the NFL, they wont go there...
