A GM doesn't mean success.

"Football guy" GM's lose their jobs every year because their teams aren't very good.

Tom Donahoe had terrific reputation as a GM for the Steelers.

Then the Bills hired him.

And he did nothing for them, and was subsequently fired.

There's a hell of a lot more to a successful program than having a "football guy" GM.

But injuries have plagued the Commanders for quite awhile now. Their luck with injuries has to be the worst in the league. Could be because of the field they play on.

Agree but it doesn't take long before you know what you are dealing with and that he is not the right person for the job. Look no farther than the gnats GM.

Could be. I would love to have Meyer here, but.
I think Meyer is exactly the kind of coach Jerry doesn't want. Too strong, too big a figure for Jerry to accept sharing the limelight.

He tried that twice already with gibbs and shannahan. It didn't work because just like Jerry he can't help himself and the minute they started to lay the building blocks of a good team he steps in and meddles.

It will just keep on happening no matter who either guy hires.
