Rumor: Cowboys to pass on Jeanty

The Tet vs Hunter game tape from 2023 is a must watch for draft Knicks. Tet and Golden are even just depends on your cup of tea. I personally like speed and route running for Dak.
I agree about the separation part, but Tet is a good route runner. His biggest bonus is he fixes their Red zone offense in a hurry.

My concern with Tet is that after game 1 this season, he fell off the face of the earth. What happened?

All RBs get beat up in the NFL. Even Saquon has struggled to stay healthy. You don't have to explain how they run their draft. I'm well aware. As I stated, the only way to screw this up really is to trade up. But if he is there and he is atop of their board, you draft him. Simple. Or what's the point of having a board. I would rather he go before twelve. But I wouldn't be upset if he is the pick. Actually, given all their needs, I'm not sure I would be upset with anyone unless they are injured or if its a QB.
Derrick Henry seems to be holding up. Size matters in the NFL. I doubt Jeamty is there at 12 anyway so I'm fine with someone else taking him. I want a defensive starter.

I went and rewatched Jeanty film. Then Hampton, and a few others. One thing I must say I overlooked before was how much violence and power Jeanty plays with. I saw him routinely truck guys, bounce off and hit a high gear quick. None of the backs in this draft are HIM. He is that dude. This might be one rare time that if he is there, you trust your board, TAKE HIM! He's too good. He can mask a shiet ton of deficiencies on a team. He's not that big but plays much bigger. Love Hampton, but he's not him. For a while I wanted Hampton over Jeanty. Not now. I changed my mind. This team looks a lot different with this kid on it. PERIOD.

did you study Johnson from Iowa?

One great draft pick isn't going to fix Dallas' problems or fill all the holes. (I'm ignoring our beloved gm's ;) shortcomings here as there's been enough said about that, just something for the coaches to work around).

So missing Jeanty may not be that bad, it's not like every other running back in the draft is awful, there's good ones that may even be available in the second or third rounds. Will do little good to have a top running back if the o-line can't open holes or if the defense can't make stops so that we need to run up a 40 burger to win games.

Personally, I'd prefer to trade down a bit and have a multitude of 2nd and 3rd rounders, and stock up the lines and pick up a receiver and DB or anybody who's fallen down a bit in the draft due to having a run on certain other positions, which happens often in the draft...

But if it's Jeanty I'll give him a chance.

Nothing but conjecture. Stick to your board at 12. Don't even look at depth of the draft. Don't look at the depth of the running back position, don't look at the depth of the DT position, and run your draft off what could be had later. The draft is about acquiring talent. You take the best talent regardless of position. If Jeanty is you're highest rated player when pick 12 comes around you take him. I'm sorry but I find it crazy that people would pass one of the top rated players in the draft because they MIGHT find a real good one later. That's silly talk and not the way good teams are built.
Just curious, after all the folks here ragging on the Cowboys for selecting Zeke with the 4th pick, does waiting a few more spots before taking Jeanty make it now fine to draft a running back early? If so, what happened to "running backs are a dime a dozen" feelings?
