Daniel Bryan Needs Tommy John Surgery, WWE Future In Question
The last time the WWE Universe heard from Daniel Bryan, he was pumping up the San Francisco Giants-crowd in the classic “Yes” chants. It took place before game three of the National League Divisional Series. Remember, that was in AT&T Park, not a WWE ring. Bryan belongs in a WWE ring for the rest of his healthy life. Not literally of course, because a person’s body doesn’t last forever, but is presence belongs in professional wrestling.
Bryan’s last appearance for WWE TV came at the Payback pay-per-view and it was to provide an update on his health. Nothing was improving, but Bryan said it wouldn’t stop him from coming back to the place he loves. Unfortunately, more bad news is on the way for Daniel Bryan. According to SEScoops.com, Bryan’s close to requiring Tommy John surgery, which could set back the former-WWE champion another year.
“The latest as of Monday night is that Bryan is seeing no improvement with his arm. Backstage at RAW from Atlanta, a lot of the talent was talking about the fact Bryan may be getting the ‘Tommy John Surgery.’
“The typical recovery for Tommy John Surgery is 6-12 months depending on the physical activity the athlete is involved in.
“It is still not known if he will ever wrestle again, as this injury, prevents him from being cleared to wrestle. WWE’s creative team is still working under the assumption that Bryan won’t be back in action any time soon and are not factoring him into any creative plans.”
This news is just horrible for Bryan, the WWE and his legions of fans, if it is true. Nothing is confirmed yet, so take this as a rumor for now. He is one of the most-devoted wrestlers in the world and easily a top-5 WWE superstar. Vince McMahon and Triple H didn’t give Daniel Bryan two huge main-event matches, as well as the WWE World Heavyweight championship, for no reason.
