They better make sure he's 100% ready so he has a chance to play well when he returns unlike last season where you could tell he wasn't right.

Just passing along what I heard on the radio

Two knuckleheads who have no medical background going back and forth with a prediction and citing some injury 20 years ago that may or may not have been similar to Dez's to draw their conclusion from.

I think he'll miss this week and he should. We can get by San Fran without Dez, though it would be nice to have him. I don't see him missing the Bengals game and for sure not the Packers.

From the little I've been able to discern this isn't just a pain tolerance thing. If so, Dez could probably play this week.

The bigger issue is that he could easily put stress on the fracture and go from a hairline fracture to a season ending fracture.

Hence the need to keep him out for 2-4 weeks.

If he misses the game against the 49ers then it is fair to assume he will miss more because not much will change in a week or 2.

Rest him vs 49ers. The important thing is that he be ready to go when Im at the game vs Bengals. Smh.

Yep. My buddy (who actually predicted the exact injury in the dez injury thread before it was announced, he's a PT) originally said its a 4-6 week injury.

It has nothing to do with pain, and milk ain't gonna do it. It's a fracture in the front of your knee, load bearing, basically affected by any move you make athletically. Basically, it's a pain in the butt, like a foot sprain.

He's not going to play next weekend unless there's a miracle. PT's also would never tell a guy, in the original diagnosis, that he was going to be ready to play pro sports in 3 weeks. It's going to be up to the CT scan or whatever they do that week.

Pretty lame.
