The only place I saw this was on my Yahoo fantasy football league notes area for Dez and I didn't see anything else here but FWIW...

Bryant is close to a plea deal in the family violence case, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Recommendation: The plea bargain would involve Bryant pleading guilty to a Class C misdemeanor for Family Violence, according to 105.3 THE FAN. If the proposed plea deal is accepted, Bryant will avoid jail time. However, he could still face a suspension from the NFL.

since the Fan is reporting it, better take it with a grain of salt.

The second link says KRLD is reporting it.

if he doesn't they will have to prove he did it to put him in jail which will be hard when even the "victim" says he didn't. He should fire his lawyer if he's suggesting Bryant take a plea deal here

there is another thread on this. Dez is filing guilty plea. Its class C. No jail time but anger management classes. Goodell could still impose penalty.

That's the rumor....

And he won't get suspended

Cowboys already took action....and this is his first offense

If you take a look at guys who got suspended, they are repeat offenders.

Goodell will look at what the cowboys did, as enough, for now.

your working in Goodell office these days? Honestly, nobody knows how the league will handle this. One thing we are sure of is the league doesn't hold back when it comes to penalizing Cowboys.

Lets just wait for official plea to be submitted and wait few weeks to see if league just puts Dez on their watch list or does hand penalty down. The nature of the offense is what could get Dez suspended not the fact that this is his first "official" mark.

While he won't spend time in jail, I doubt this is expressly to "avoid" jail. If you've never been arrested before, and you go to jail for hitting someone with a hat, your lawyer is a moron, and probably liable for his incompetence.

No way he gets more than a week suspension and it may be something that acts as a wakeup call. I wouldn't be outraged if he gets it as I would be very hopeful it acts as a positive in the longrun. Him watching the team out there without him would probably be enough to get through to him to grow up.

Spencer got arrested and was simply fined by the team. I expect the same for Dez.

He'll plead guilty to avoid his mother from having to go to jail.

That is what I think. She is on a really strict 10 year probationary period. If this went to trial it would be evident that she was either high that day or lied to the police on an official report. Lot of possibilities that would put her inside.

For all she has done she is still his mother and he does not want her in jail.

What action did the Cowboys take? I must have missed something. I know Dez set up a mentorship program with his advisors, but that was not the Cowboys doing.

Didn't they set up 24 hour "bodyguards" (3 guys each on a different shift)? They also gave him a curfew that he agreed to if I'm not mistaken. That is action by the team.
