To fix the problem, Microsoft is working on a new version of Windows 8 called Windows Blue.

Top Microsoft reporter Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet says one of the biggest changes in Blue will be that it will work more like old-fashioned versions of Windows.

Foley:
Reports from a couple of different forums from this past weekend raised the possibility that Microsoft might be moving toward allowing users to skip booting into the Metro-Style Start menu and instead start their PCs in desktop mode. (Winbeta.org noted the thread about this on April 14.)

From what I read there will be a lot of improvements. Some of the improvements were no-brainers that should have been put in Windows 8 to begin with. It's head scratching why they weren't.

If they do these changes, I will go ahead and buy another Laptop. I am still using my 5 year old Dell and I won't get a new one with current Win 8 on it.

There's a reason that the guy who headed the Win8 project got canned. I've got no issues with the OS for touchscreen folks. But that's just a little over 10% of the Windows user base right now. Should have been a no brainer to have it optional. Oh well....

Some say that MS, alone, is driving millions of former PC users to Apple.

PC sales are already pretty dismal.

How funny would that be?

Yep, that's the boat I'm in.
