I just heard it on Sirius NFL Radio. According to a close friend of a reputable person on the show, Shanny has said he is interested in the Bears HC job. He allegedly would be fine working with the current GM (Jerry Angelo) and only asks that he have the final say if there ever turns out to be a disagreement across various areas (scouting, GM, HC).

Lovie is hanging on by a thread and this news would have to be pretty inticing for a team searching for a solution to the Cutler issues. Shanny knows Cutler....

I have pretty much given in to the possibility that Shanny is out of the picture for our HC job. There are still some very good HCs out there. To name a few that I would prefer in order of preference: Cowher, Fisher, Chucky, or if we go college ranks... Meyer.

Sure, Wade has this team winning right now but the bottom line is deep playoff run or bust so discussion of the next HC candidate is healthy IMO.

If we make playoffs we will likely miss black Monday... and be 1 step behind in the coaching search.

Good!! Why people think he's so great is beyond me.

Our next head coach is already in Dallas.

Honestly, I think Garrett might be a fine HC. Hopefully, we won't be facing the issue because we'll have won a Super Bowl with Wade as the HC.

Yep. And I'm still not sure why we're looking to replace the current one when our team's got as good a shot at representing the NFC as anybody right now.

If Jerry were ever considering a college coach, I'd prefer to stick with Wade, to be honest.

Cowher has said he will remain in the braodcasting for at least another year, I believe Gruden has said the same thing, Fisher will remain in Tennessee, do not want Meyer and his high school offense.

After saying all that, Garrett is the next HC for us, regardless of what the team does with Wade

The longer Cowher and Gruden remain in broadcasting, the bigger dinosaurs they become. I wish someone could provide a legitimate argument with why a retread coach is the right thing for the Dallas Cowboys, given our last Super Bowl winning coaches were certainly not retread coaches.

Urban Meyer could be Jimmy Johnson II. :)

I prefer he go there over the Commanders. Zorn deserves another year at least.

Anyone remember that very brief period last year when the Skins thought they had their next great coach in Jim Zorn?

All three will whip this team into a contender. Some might argue that it's a contender now. I beg to differ. It's still trying to find that magical continuity road. I repeat. All three would have this team extremely focused all season long. Especially Cowher... That said, retreat or not, the next coach is going to have to be able to balance managing the team along with walking that delicate gm/owner relationship line.
