First off if any of that stuff about the kid being beaten is true, I don't care which player it is, I hope they get in serious trouble for it. They need some jail time and immediate banning from the league for life.

Second of all why does it matter if Portis is gay? Who gives a flying crap about whether the guy is gay or not.

I don't think they care if he's gay per se. They just want something to shut up Skids fans who call Tony "Tony Homo".

Incredible it only took til the 4th page to get answer. It's like someone thinks we're the Hardy Boys or the Nancy Drew going around solving mysteries. I mean dear lord.....

Well, I really doubt the rumor is true, mainly because I think cops nor DHS would turn a blind eye to beating a kid with a bat. HOWEVER, if it turns out to be true, and is proven, then this guy should go to jail for a good bit. That would be reprehensible, and no one, fan or not should accept that.

It's wierd that he works for United Way, yet he supposedly beats kids with baseball bats.

He did go to the U...

Tell me all about the news stories of OJ beating up Nicole before her body was found.

Athletes and stars get special treatment sometimes.

I used to work for Sears busting shoplifters. We busted a University of Arizona Wildcat basketball star for shoplifting. Sears refused to press charges. They were afraid of a fan backlash.

One former player who went on to the Denver Broncos regularly beat his girlfriend. A friend of mine lived next door and called the police on him several times. To my knowledge he never went to jail.

It happens man. People come up with convenient stories and without physical evidence cops can't do a lot. If as this lady said CPS is investigating then that's all they can do.

SO TRUE!
That's why there are so many divas (Marshall) and thugs (Pacman) in the NFL. They've gotten away with everything up to now (well Pacman hasn't) but either way they think they can.
I not amazed at this story, I just want to know who it is....

It is Santana Moss. That picture was a goof, but the age of his kid is not. The kid should be 15 right now. Santana and his wife were HS sweethearts and had a kid.

14-15 year old could be lippy and probably as big as Moss... makes the bat thing more plausible imho.

Lotsa different kinds of bats too. Not that hitting a kid with ANY bat is proper but a whiffle ball bat or nerf bat is a heck of a lot different than a wood or aluminum one.

Child Services wouldn't turn a blind eye but I bet the police would.

Being an athlete I understand how often they skate.
I was also a bail bondsman in college as we had a policy to bond out any athlete as soon as we saw their name hit the jail roster. The money was always covered....

She said it was a wooden bat...

how close exactly was she???
i mean they make a lot of bats that "look" like wood but are plastic.

presumably someone got a hold of the bat but I am doubting she actually did.

if he a 14-15 year old with a bat then her husband should have went next door and kicked in his teeth, imho.

I thought I hear somewhere in the recording that she said it was a player that no one wants on the team. I'm not sure if she meant the fans or the other players when she said this.

That doesn't sound like it would be Moss, but then, she may not know what she is talking about.

Obviously who knows how close she was. We also have no idea if any of this is true. When she was describing the bat she did not sound any more or less believable then the rest of her story.

Next door neighbors. They were in the back yard I gather.

I think she was trying to say the neighborhood people. She mentioned they hoped he would get traded.

That's what I understood too. I don't think she was saying his teammates didn't want him on the team.

Santana is a Commanders "legend", so I don't doubt for a minute that police would look the other way. CPS not so much, but still possible.

If it is true, then as much I root for him, I would not hesitate to say he ought to go to jail. I think it would be very hard to prove, but, just like with Vick, some players on hte team would know the real deal, and I hope someone would do the right thing. Taking a bat to a kid clearly is wrong. I would also hope that, if proven/convicted, no Skins fan would say anything to the opposite.

You have got to be one of the most level headed Skins fans on this site. I said the same stuff about Irvin and others that got in trouble in the 90's.
