We are a more effective offense with the impact of Daks running ability. It opens up our offense. The running duo of Elliott and Prescott is a winning combination.

We must allow Dak to play his game despite the risk and what it means having a running QB. It’s probably going to shorten his career but his passing ability isn’t enough without his running threat.

He’s a big strong kid and he seems to be smart not allowing big hits on him. But watching him stride down the sidelines on our 1st TD made me realize the potential threat he can be.

But there will be additional risk and with that I’d only extend him 3 years instead of 6 or 7. And we need a more seasoned veteran backup or better prospect in draft in case of injury.

But it’s a risk we must take because it places us in the best position for success for as long as possible.

The run/throw Dak was ROY and had the best rookie season ever for a QB. That's the Dak we need if we're going to do anything after a 3-3 start. Dak and Elliott are our main playmakers on offense due to how it's constructed.

That’s right!!

We desperately need playmakers on offense and Dak becomes another one on the ground.

ask SL why in 3 losses we dont run Zeke enough and forget to use any RPO, zone reads, and dak running more?? 3 wins we did this more..its SL fault we are 3-3 this year, two super close losses..IMO we should be 4-2 maybe 5-1 I know we are who we are but SL loses his mind..yesterday works for us, its our identity and yet SL forgets this..i hate the guy..wish he still would be fired..i could call plays in the sand better then he does,,its sad really..

The running portion of the RPO is more effective against a team like Jacksonville that has its ends crash down and relies on the linebackers to take the quarterback. If the blockers (including the tight ends) do their job, they can cut those linebackers off, and even if they don't, Dak can get out in space and try to shake them, so it becomes athletic ability vs. athletic ability one-on-one.

It's more difficult when the ends play contain and the linebackers crash the middle to play Elliott. Then, Prescott either immediately is hit by an end or has to get around an unblocked player.

The times we have not run Dak as much or as effectively is when teams have done this and also been able to limit Elliott by bringing extra run support. The way you stop that is by burning those defenses with passes until the safeties start bailing out. We haven't done this very well.

If you know anything about Dak Prescott's career/skill set/ game you'd know it's idiotic for either Dak or his coaches not use his legs every week. Dual-threat QB is his skill-set, use him accordingly otherwise its counterproductive to have #4 as the QB.

I'm fine with 180 yards passing and around 50 yards rushing from Dak. That's who he is. Play to those strengths Linehan ...

I have been saying this about how best to use Dak since he was drafted in April of 2016. Dak is a hybrid QB, and you've got to let him run with the ball! His hybrid abilities is what opens up this Offense and wins games for us. The stubborness of the Cowboys and their decision makers is mind numbing. Dak is 6'2", muscular, thick and built like a LB. His body can take/absorb hits. He's just got to keep being smart about when and how to take them. This in turn will open things up better for his passing game, his Oline, his receivers and Zeke. It's not that difficult to figure out.
