Run Dak, Run!

Very well. I wonder if there's someone on the Reid or Pederman coaching squads that know how to use that style of QB. I think that could work.

And get him hurt for the season, they did a swell job with Wentz. And it will happen again.

This staff rarely uses play action and its baffling. Witten was all over it last night.

Do you even know what you're talking about? This was written just a month ago from the undefeated..lol

Linehan and the Cowboys run plenty of play-action that creates microexecution dilemmas for linebackers. For example, they often motion a receiver or second tight end to a wing location just behind or outside of the on-the-line tight end. Then they run hard play-action in that same direction. While this is happening, the wing player runs behind the line of scrimmage to the opposite flat. The defender responsible has a dilemma: either attack the run aggressively and commit to stopping the league’s leading rusher or patiently read his keys anticipating the play-action. Prescott bootlegs out and hits his receiver for a 3- to 7-yard gain.

All of his flaws are magnified in the pocket...........lack of pocket awareness is glaring, lack of touch on the balls he throws, the hesitation........... it is painful to watch.
I wonder... does anyone know how the other players feel about Dak? Are they behind him or just saying nothing. I would love to be a fly in the locker room

The guy runs for 80 yards against j-ville and tears them up.........and then nothing.... Dak is not a pocket passer and whoever is trying to make him one is a moron and needs to go. I'm not saying Dak is my ideal franchise QB but as long as he is in the game, he needs to do what he does best.............which is not taking 5 and 7 step drops. He needs to roll out away from pressure and take off when he has green in front of him. No reason we should lose games like last night.

I'm still baffled by the Linehan and Garrett not tailoring the offense towards Dak's strength. Our best game was against the Jags where we ran lots of bootlegs, play actions, had Beasley in motion and RPO. That has completely disappeared these past few games which the Cowboys have lost.

The offense and its design its what's hurting this team the most. Garrett and Linehan are just too stubborn to make any changes to it even if their jobs depend on it.

The best indication we have is a few of the receivers essentially pointing the finger away from themselves and towards Dak for the lack of production.

Linehan did not call a game plan to step on the Titans neck after the turn overs. As I keep saying why have a FB and Rico Gathers on the roster and you are not going to use either. What are the Jonesboys? Hoarders? Lets hoard the players so when they go to another team they become stars (Martellus Bennett).

Booger McFarland kept bringing up that this offense has no fear factor at TE. They can not run the ball consistently without a lead FB. What was the big play that got the Titans in scoring range to take the lead. They lined up in I formation ran to the left side and the FB kicked out the OLB. Sounds familiar? The Cowboys use to do that but the Jonesboys have no clue.

When all you run is button hooks with the WRs and TEs, no QB drop back or scrambler QB is going to look good in this offense. Witten kept telling you this is not the 2014 offense. Its not the 2016 offense. We have no TE that can run a crossing route and slant that gets open, but the one that is hoarded on the bench. We get a WR that can get open and we take him off the field after every big catch signaling the defense the Jonesboys are now going to run the ball with Zeke and no FB.

Go watch the Patriots use the RB, FB, TE, and WR in the passing game. They pass inside to outside and not with button hooks. This is not rocket science. People forget that the Landry years and the Johnson years had RBs and FBs catching the ball with designed pass routes (both 1977 and 1992 the RB was the 3rd leading receiver on the team). They had 1 very good TE. Then the WR would beat you deep and break slants and 20 yard digs/post routes. The Jonesboys longest pass play before the last drive vs. the Titans was the broken coverage play to Hurns for a TD.

This offense does not play to no ones strength. The Jonesboys offense is "like a golf ball in high grass...LOST!" (Parcells quote to Romo).

I think its stupid for Garrett to take out the player after a big play. It happens with our offense all the time. It just slows momentum and ruins the rhythm. This is what Garrett doesn't understand about football. Momentum is very important. You don't take a player out when he makes a big play. You leave him in and keep going to him until the other team stops him. The Patriots do it often. They keep going to the same play over and over until the defense adjusts. Then Brady would go to another guy where the defense overcompensates for the adjustment.

As for Rico and that FB we got from Oakland, their talent is being wasted because of Garrett's pathetic offense. This offense is the worst in the NFL. Is so basic and just too easy to predict. But Garrett is too stubborn to make changes.

Expecting average to below average coaching to develop or optimize below average to average QB is a ridiculous expectation.

Since an excellent coach isn’t likely with Jerry’s ways makes me wonder where our hope resides if Jerry is determined to make Dak work.

And why Troy is dead on with his assertion with our dysfunctional organization. Continuing to look for normal solutions within this situation doesn’t appear logical.

Can you believe Aikman went on the ticket and said those things? No more comps for him and his family ! I can't think of a former cowboy player or coach who has gone after Jerry like he did yesterday.

Years ago Drew Pearson and Charlie Waters did in their radio show. It was believed for decades why Drew was shunned by Jerry in ROH.

Its rare b/c of the repercussions. Aikman has a much bigger pulpit than those guys. I wonder if his opinion will have any effect.

Agree with you. Also, when you take out a player like Zeke and AC you automatically can guess what they are going to do with either off the field (Zeke off pass, AC off run).

Yards per attempt differential
play action vs. no play action
Top 5 QB w/min 200 dropbacks
1 Rivers +4.7
2 Wilson +4.4
3 Goff +3.4
4 Keenum +3.3
5 Prescott +3.1

NFL rank in play action attempts of those five QB
Goff 1st
Keenum 8th
Wilson 15th
Prescott 18th
Rivers 24th

Why not trade a couple number ones for Barkley and line Beasley up as qb and run the running backs. Since we don't have a quarterback that isn't scared. Run Shack and Meathead.

It doesn't help that your coach sucked, meaning Dak is being coached by a guy who couldn't earn a starting position, what since does that make? How is he supposed to improve being coached by a group of Losers basically, how many games did JG start, how many did the QB coach start!??????

There is your answer

JG might be a total loser but your logic makes ZERO sense...there's been so many bad players or people who didn't even play the game at a high level who went on to be great coaches and teachers.
Did Bill Bellechick play in the NFL and win multiple SBs? No...dude was a TE/Center at a horrible college doesn't mean he can't coach a team at a high level.

What also annoys me if they run a play and it works they totally abandon that play and go back to their conservative playcalling.
