Run, Dak, Run!

if he runs with fear like he does in the pocket he'll be fine. unless he runs the wrong way. "Dak Marshall is running the wrong way"

I get that the QB on the run is asking to see the backup but this isn't about choice, it is about necessity. Like it or not, Dak Prescott, is a dual threat QB and when he runs, the DC's have a tougher time of hemming him in and must play the D safer or go all out and present opportunities for big plays.

Fact is, Dak is a great runner for a QB and has a RB build and unless he gets tagged in the head or lower body, he's just as vulnerable getting sacked in the pocket.

That 4th down play last week. How much harder would that have been to defend with Dak on the move with the pass/run option?

Those not familiar with his rise in awareness at Miss St in his junior year, that was all dual threat and about 40% his ability to get through creases and not take direct hits. Good SEC DC's had to keep him in the pocket but the Cowboys O staff is doing that for opponents now.

The risk is inherent with QB's like Cunningham, McNabb, Newton and Prescott. He is not a pocket QB, stop trying to make him into one. Let him be what he is and if that's not good enough, get another QB. In order for Dak Prescott to reach his full potential as a NFL QB, he must be allowed to use that God given talent to move the chains on his own.

I think the only way Dak approaches being a high Tier 2 QB and worth the money is by using his legs a hell of a lot more than he is now. Take the training wheels off the man!

I get the feeling the team is saving his legs for a run in the playoffs. I have no evidence just a feeling.

100% true

Dak only runs well when Zeke is in... nobody scared of Dak..

Dak also takes plenty of sacks running into pressure with his legs...

Been saying this stuff for 3 years, Dak needs called QB runs and an up tempo offensive attack for best results.

This OC just refuses to that so we'll watch a running QB struggle trying to be something he's not, a pocket passer.

Also Dak is 240 run him till he taps his helmet, Dude is bigger than Zeke, take off the kid gloves.

People talk about Dak’s junior year, but ignore his deer-in-the-headlights horrible pocket presence, senior year when he could only beat scrub teams not in his division and they lost to every SEC ranked team and Dak’s numbers in those games were just padded stats in blowout losses.

That’s why his pre-draft profile states:

“Hyper-aware of pressure around him and lacks awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make throw."

I don't mind them trying to teach him to be more of a pocket passer in the NFL. He needs some work at it. STill young. But you HAVE TO mix it up and do things to get him out on the run or at least let him use those skills when he can break free. Must do it enough to keep the defense guessing and honest.

Dak running is great when no one expects it, make it part of the gameplan and it will be shutdown quickly.
That's a very strong possibility, but when that happens it's bound to open up other options.

Yes, Dak running against 8 man fronts with Zeke would be even more successful than Zeke himself dominating the whole first half with close up 100 yards rushing against these same 8 man fronts...
