Cowboys gave up 174 yards rushing to the Bucs; 97 to Cadillac Williams. Big numbers considering that the lead forced the Bucs to almost abandon the run by the 4th qtr (47yds in the 2nd half I think, 3carries in the 4th qtr)

Giants have two RBs that are probably better than the two the Cowboys just faced.

Maybe it was just me, but it looked like the Commanders were consciously looking to hit Brandon Jacobs low; to take out his legs. I don't think I saw any attempted tackles up around his shoulders/toro. he had 16 carries for 46 yards (15yd long), so the Commanders did something right. Something Dallas needs to think about doing next week

This has never been a problem for this defense. I can't see it being a problem going forward.

First of all, that's where you want to tackle a power guy like Jacobs. If you try to tackle him around his shoulders, he'll simply shrug you off.

I'm not so sure the Giant's duo is better than the Bucs. Carnell Williams is a heckuva back (when healthy). Ward was a stud for the NYG, and Graham is a good back too.

I'd say their TRIO is better than the Giants. The Bucs also have a very solid OL.

But I've always been concerned with our run D. Mostly, they play well. But it seems that real physical teams really give us fits.

It's a concern for sure. It will be an ordeal with the Gmen next week. Luckily I think we can outscore them.

Tampa's running game is very very good I must say.

The Giants have a very good Oline too. The run defense and tackling was easily the most worrisome part of our effort today AFAIC. Hopefully it will be better from now on.

True......

They play very well as a unit. They've been together a while.

They aren't as big as the Bucs OL, but they're more athletic.

my first thought was, we spent most of the summer not tackling. my second thought was, he's a pretty talented RB who is appears finally healthy. hopefully it gets better. if that is our yearlong run defense, we will be shredded.

No. Tampa has 3 extremely, extremely good backs. Just because the mediots are in love with other teams RB tandems/trios, it doesn't mean that Tampa's isn't good.

The media is just too busy with their Giants/Panthers love.

anyone who thinks the run defense looked bad becuse the Bucs have good backs is on crack...the run defense looked bad because it WAS bad...and it was about as bad as I have seen it in 5+ years....I mean I was STUNNED

They were gashed over and over and got no pressure. the Bucs online just mauled our D line amd linebackers.

Bucs were opening holes up consistently against our D. Hopefully this doesnt become a trend. Giants will exploit our run D if we dont pick it up!
