The Giants were 19th in the league against the run last year. DeMarco Murray was tied for first in the league among running backs in yards per carry. Felix Jones was 21st in the league. We're bringing up Dunbar from the practice squad. I think he only does that if he is active. Which means four active half backs (unless Tanner is going to be inactive).

Sounds to me like a recipe for running the ball 35-40 times tonight. Setting up a lot of play action to slow down these pass rushers of the Giants.

Edit: Don't think Dunbar is being brought up after all, but I still think we will run heavy.

Demarco Murray is going to be our workhorse all year. Might as well turn him loose tonight.

I think this is true, but I also think that Felix will get his carries tonight. About 8-10 carries at least.

I know all about the loud mouth dbags on the ends: JPP and 'subway' TUCK....what about their interior dlinemen? Canty is out hurt, right?

Murray is our secret weapon tonight. I ran my mouth before our first game against the Giants about how good Murray was and how they were going to witness it first hand. I was so pissed when he got hurt. However, tonight I can not wait for him to be introduced to the Giants.

Anywhere hear anything about Ryan Cook and how he is looking? I'm worried about our OL helping him out though.

I agree.. the Giants are going to get a full dose of that workhorse. I hope they get him some screen passes as well. Murray 25 carries for 123 yards and 1td.

I wonder if we have the personell to do what we did in the 90's. Pass to get the lead, then run to control the clock.

Doubt we are particularly run heavy -- I do think that we'll see at least 10 passes to RBs though.

Dunbar will be returning kicks/punts. He won't see the field as a contributor in any other capacity. If Felix has more than 5 carries on the game, I'll be suprised. However, I do agree that the Cowboys intend to run the ball alot tonight.

dunbar is on the practice squad, to bring him up the the 53, we would have to release a player or put someone on IR. That would also mean he would have to go through waivers if we wanted to put him back on practice squad.

there are rules to that, we cant just use in games whenever needed without repercussions.

i'm skeptical if we can open up running lanes for our backs to shine.

If the game is close and/or we have a decent lead and we can actually run on them then yeah, other wise it's kind pointless to force it

I think there is a plan to use Felix a lot more than last year (when Murray was became the starter). Last year Felix came back from an injury, but still needed surgery at the end of the year. Felix actually did REALLY well when he returned as the starter. I think It'll be somewhat of a 2 series to 1 series ratio. He ran for 100 yards in two straight games.

He had 106 yards on 16 carries against the Giants. 108 yards on 22 carries against the Buccaneers. I definitely think he will get his carries.

With Witten out, I don't think we're going to want to pass nearly as much as we would have. And if you look at games where we were successful running the ball last year, we really didn't get pass happy.

You aren't really following the story with Dunbar very closely. While it seems he will remain on the PS, it was reported that we cut the 4th string TE in order to bring him up. I hate when people are condescending, when they aren't even apprised of general knowledge.

I think how we do in the running game will determine how much we run. Running game can be a big help but it has to be effective.

and now you know why things like Facebook, chat sites, forums, online etc... are terrible for socializing because people misrepresent what is really expressed. I was not condescending at all there, just pointing out a simple thing. But you are right, I haven't really had time to follow close with what was going on with Dunbar.

so you have a nice day (hmmm was that condescending or genuine :starspin)
