I told y'all even before the end of last year when everyone was saying that Zeke was done and that Tony needed to be the #1 RB, I said it then and have been saying it ever sense, Tony isn't built to be a lead back and that he would/will struggle in that role. Especially just coming back from his major knee injury. He just isn't able to pound the ball inside effectively, definitely not over and over again to soften up defenses and he isn't a good pass blocker either. I said all along that if they don't get an inside pounder to move the pile, to take and deliver the punishment to the defense over a course of a game that we would struggle running the ball. Especially when we needed it most like late in a game when we need to to seal a victory, in short yardage and in goal line situations. I thought for sure they would draft a RB in the mid rounds to replace Zeke's role. They failed to do so and we are paying the price for that mistake. You can bet your butt that we will draft a complete RB within the first 4 rds come April.
And not to keep tooting my own horn but they should have listen to me when I said that they needed to draft Torrence for LG, move Tyler to LT and make Tryon the RT, keeping Steele as the primary back up. How much better do you think that O-line would be running the ball right now?
