Teams have use the Fangio blueprint to contain the Cowboys offense. Shell coverage and dare the Cowboys to run the football. When you cannot run the football against this scheme, the QB has to fit passes into tight windows into harms way. This also puts too much pressure on your OL to hold up in pass protection. Run the football and stay committed to it!
Despite what the final numbers say, the Eagles were average against the run last season. They were one of the best in time of possession and the defense played ahead of the scoreboard consistently each week. Very similar to Dak's rookie season, but loaded with offensive weapons.
