Elliott. Jackson. Prescott. All come from the option. New wrinkle?

Wouldn't do it if Tony is healthy. I would never take him of the field. Now if he is injured, why not. Nothing else seemed to work last year.

You could say that about most drafted players. :D

Fair point. But as was pointed out above, should Rome get hurt, the ol could possibly thrive in that system. The aforementioned players would feel right at home. It is an interesting possibility worthy of discussion.

DMAC has speed too?
Whitehead/Dez for possible reverse as only wide out?

The possible combinations of strength and speed would exhaust the opposing defense, particularly if they implement more no-huddle.

Chip Kelly likes the idea of using college players and strategies to win.

Bring in Barry as a consultant, and run the wishbone.

it could be a good change of pace in selected situations SOME of the time.
goal line for 1 play, 3rd and short, or just once in a while.

With the same personnel, you can switch between option, 2 wideout or even 3 wide out assuming you leave Dez on the outside.

So you can do a no-huddle and force the defense to stay in nickel and dime and yet deal with larger heavier blockers.

That is because all 3 are flexible:
1. Bigger stronger than typical DBs - Zeke 225lb, McFadden 210lb and Jackson 220lb
2. Plenty fast for WR - Zeke - 4.47?, McFadden 4.4?, Jackson 4.35 and we know Zeke and McFadden can catch the ball and have good YAC
3. Pass block - Zeke is great blocker and McFadden is proven blocker - Jackson looks willing and is considered for special teams

this is something Dunbar does not offer though he can play WR also in the scheme.

this flexibility may force defense to stay in nickel/dime with smaller DBs.
had to stop option plays in nickel/dime.

We do have some good size RB's, and fast. Throw in Rod Smith if they convert him to FB, 6-2, 231, and has some speed. And can catch.

I sure hope that doesn't happen...we need an offense that all QBs can play well within. That said...I would be in favor as a way to win a few games. I can just see too many bad things happening...How do you factor in the pass?
