Running Back Approach 101

It would seem to me that:


1. Felix is the homerun or atleast big play back.

Question: Why send him into a line that doesnt open holes?

2. It would seem to me that we should be abusing Tashard's body with pounding the ball.

Question: why not do just that?

We are going to have to get used Felix being hurt if we continue to try and use him this way?

Until we open running lanes, he is going to get killed and we will lose his services more often than not.

Because even tho Felix is a big play back he has also grown into a better pounding RB then Choice. He can at least move the pile where choice is starting to look like Julius Jones 2.0

Felix was great between the tackles yesterday.

Choice is ponding the ball to a whopping 0.9 yds per carry this year.

if felix is the lead back, then he should be able to run all our running plays. if he is limited to outside runs only, there is some problems with that. One, you have a part time RB, that when in the game, folks know he will run to the outside. you are in essence tipping your hand.

instead of worrying about choice & jones, the focus should be on fixing the OL

You have to give the ball to your best players. If Felix is going to get hurt he's going to get hurt. If he can go, feed him the ball.
