It's refreshing, in a way to hear players talk like this.

It seems like so many players nodays are robotic, just spouting tired cliches about their rivals and not seeming very passionate about the games.

Real emotion is refreshing.

I don't have a problem with Brandon Jacobs speaking his mind. But then, I didn't have a problem with Crayton doing it either. I think it makes the games more fun, and I think there's almost nothing to the bulletin-board material at the pro level.

The key to stopping Jacobs is the same for most big backs, get them going east and west instead of north and south. He is not going to beat you with his speed. If Dallas can plug up the running lanes inside and force Jacobs to bounce plays outside he becomes much easier to take down

When I was growing up we were taught that athletics was all about fair competition, good sportsmanship and respect for your opponent and that trash talking, cheating, bigotry and hatred were bad things.

Nowadays, fair competition, good sportsmanship and respect for your opponent are considered passe and stupid and trash talking, cheating, bigotry and hatred are apparently now seen as good things.

Obviously, this is no country for old men.

Stupidly, I respect the NY Giants and all teams in the NFL although I admit to not liking some owners, coaches and players but that's pretty much on a case by case basis based on their personal words or deeds.

Never heard of the 70's Cowboys/Commanders rivalry or the 90's Cowboys/Eagles?

Teams have always had real animosity going back to when football was mostly Ivy League.

Now kids should be taught to play with class and dignity but the truth is coaches and teams have always used/manufactured/whatever real dislike for opponents as a tool to gain an edge in focus and determination.

They got the super bowl ring AFTER they started yammering.

In fact they used the Cowboys dislike they had to fuel that SB run. All they talked about was our 13 Super Bowlers even though we had beaten them twice in the regular season.

We have beaten the Giants 4 out 6. Perhaps they should resolve to only trash talk teams they are commonly beating.

I am very concerned about our ability to stop the run in this game. Tampa does not have a great offensive line but they seemed to run the ball at will. The Giants will present a more formidable challenge.

Let's see if Mr. Fix-It can fix the run defense this week.
