There you go, can’t leave running your drivel about Zeke Out of any post. You could have had a decent post until that part.

Pollard lovers say he can block well, but all I seen was Dak getting killed or throwing INTs from his lack of blocking.
ill talk about Zeke whenever I please. NOt my problem its sore subject for you. You made your own bed.

The primary, "starting" running back needs to be able to run, block, and receive. All options should be available to the play caller.

Specialty backs shrink the playbook.
Yah, but we are talking about the backup.

He’s nowhere near a good of a pass protector as Elliot was. That doesn’t mean he can’t get there.
That wasnt the point. But Pollard actually graded out better than Zeke last year. For whatever that is worth.

Not a sore subject, it is just you go beyond to show your hate for a player no longer with the team. It is laughable.

It will be a major mistake if the Cowboys don't sign a veteran RB like Dalvin Cook or Kareem Hunt.
We have one proven RB that's only had a limited role and a bunch of question marks. Malik Davis is the 2nd best RB on the team and that's not good. Call the Titans and see what it would take to get Derrick Henry. If they can't work something out ,at least they tried.

Double tight ends and 6 offensive linemen in a formation still work as additional alternatives and the coming movement will show the opponents' hand on play schemes...single or zone coverages.

The Cowboys need far more than a backup. They need a guy capable of carrying the ball ten times a game. They certainly aren't going to give Pollard the ball 30 times a game for 17 games.

Last season the Cowboys ran the ball 531 times or a little over 31 times a game. McCarthy has indicated he wants to run the ball even more. Who can the Cowboys give the ball to for 10 carries a game and expect a meaningfull contribution?
I think the running element will be more to the extending of time in drives...not just domination pounding.

Well, an argument could be made that Elliott running style ruined him as much or more than anything else. He had been a punishing-style runner and that wears you down more than the elusive type. The elusive types have to worry more about soft tissue injuries because of the stress and strain they put on their ligaments and tendons. Pollard's broken leg is more in the fluke category. A defender falling on your ankle will do that.
yeah, Zeke brought it on himself especially later in his career when he lost his juke/wiggle and was trying to run over people. Tony will do just fine, he still makes people miss and does have some surprising power as well. Should he go down, it may get a little messy..but you can say that about QB or WR as well. Can't have great backups who can start everywhere. I think they will be fine with Malik, Duece, Luepke, combo. The OL is the key no matter who is back there.

Fortunately for Pollard, this situation works out better for him than most. As pick No. 128 in the 2019 NFL Draft, a $10.09 million contract doesn’t cramp him financially as much as it could. Perhaps he could have beaten that figure in free agency, but the current state of the running-back market makes that no guarantee. Not to mention, his guaranteed salary in 2023 is almost triple his career earnings to this point.

Even so, there’s plenty on the line for Pollard in his fifth NFL season, and he’s primed for a sizable deal.

Guess the question will finally be answered as to whether Polly is a starter type or more of a good comp back. I have doubts myself, but there's no way to know, although some scream that they do!!!
