With all the Zeke issues, would it not force the organization to make a tough decision next season. What I'm saying is, if we drafted a running back who had success in our scheme in 2022. I think this would make the ultimate decision to part ways with Zeke a lot easier.

Pollard may possibly leave, so we'd need another running back, please give me your thoughts on this thought. I hope we draft a running back, and not plan on going the cowboy way to get an undrafted running back ..

Well, if Kellen Moore would go back to a good running game, then okay. But, if he continues to abandon the run game, it won't matter what RB is drafted.

Exactly... Put that in line with not scheming to get Amari open so Dak can throw the ball to the 100 million dollar receiver and it equals an OC that has no clue what he's doing...

I think thats a good idea! But they have so many FAs and other needs I don't know if it's a they will.

I think Zeke retires here and I'd rather spend draft picks on O-line or a mean monster, corn fed, half crazy, QB wrecking D-lineman

See but why would he retire??? Getting your money and running not cool

Ok well it doesn't have to be early in the draft, just find one
Don't they have a pretty good RB from the Eagles already on the team? Guy was good when I watched him and paired with Pollard makes a very good backfield

I've got more concerns than RB right now. Zeke and Pollard are our RBs for 2022. I'm more worried about WR if we cut Cooper with Gallup and Wilson being free agents, TE if we lose Schultz to free agency and Jarwin is done via his reported injury for 2022, OLine - LG and possibly C need addressed, LBer with the eventual departure of LVE, DE if Gregory leaves via free agency and especially if they part ways with DLaw, and would love to have another CB opposite of Diggs. Too many other positions to worry about for me to be stressing about addressing the RB situation for 2023 in 2022.

We should be trying to extend Pollard to a team friendly contract this year so we can cut Zeke next year and draft a RB in the 3rd or 4th round of the 2023 draft. No more first round picks used on RBs or huge contracts given to RBs.

We stupidly arranged to have Pollard and Elliot contracts both end this year, much like we arranged contract years for WRs 3-5 last year, and now plan to cut WR1 as well.

We likely sign some developmental project at RB and ride Pollard and Elliot this year. Can't see them drafting a RB high with tread on P&E to use up.

We can part ways with him now he’s guaranteed a lot of money. The Cowboys will move on from him after the 2022 season. It’s going to be an easy decision to part ways with him after next season. If we draft an RB in April they won’t get much if any playing time. We’ll draft one when we need one.

No. Its all Dak's fault. I heard it here. Amari is open every play. He just doesnt see him.

Well I'm more worried that we pass so much because of all the short runs from our top guy

And if he does, and plays well, it will cause controversy!!

He’s going to continue splitting carries and I don’t see him having the kind of year that’s going to cause any controversy. 2022 will be his 7th season. He went through injuries this past season and will have a lot of wear and tear on him after next season. It’s a very safe bet the Cowboys will move on from him after next season. They would move on now if they could. Don’t see us wasting a pick on a RB with the needs we have in the trenches and possibly at WR and TE.

Some of that would be solved with better OLine play. Connor Williams and Tyler Biadasz spend almost as much time in the backfield as Zeke and Pollard. Pollard gets his yards because he is able to run outside the tackles. However, Zeke has turned into more of a between the tackles runner as he has gotten older. With the interior of our OLine getting pushed back and not opening holes between the tackles it affects Zeke more than it does Pollard. If we draft a RB this year he is just going to sit on the bench behind Zeke and Pollard. Zeke's not going anywhere this year because his contract makes it impossible to cut him this year. Fix the OLine this year, find a TE that can run block, and ride with Zeke and Pollard in 2022. In 2023 you can decide whether to cut Zeke and draft his replacement.

Also, Connor Williams and Tyler Biadasz, have hurt Dallas a lot in the passing game. People love to blame Dak for everything but he is constantly throwing from a collapsed pocket. Trying to throw over Williams and Biadasz who are getting pushed back into him is not easy.

Running back is a sneaky need in the draft. Zeke or no Zeke in 2023, remember Tony Pollard is also in his walk year and another team is bound to view him as a number one back.
