Running Back Observations

Facts don't fly with these fans.
dont offend fans using that word loosely on this group..

zekes no longer elite, no doubt but hardly done.

we all agree overpaid but i can see that all around the league if you make comps i mean those aorund Zekes payroll even at rb 10-12mil per season etc show me lats season those in that top 5 Rb group of AAV who was that much better?? i mean Mcaffrey, kamara, and other pretty sure many were far worse..

  • 1. Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey: $16 million 442 yards 2 tds

  • 2. Saints RB Alvin Kamara: $15 million 898 yards 4 tds

  • 2. Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott: $15 million 1002 yards 10tds

  • 4. Vikings RB Dalvin Cook: $12.6 million 1159 yards 6 tds

  • 5. Titans RB Derrick Henry: $12.5 million 937 yards 10tds

  • 6. Browns RB Nick Chubb: $12.2 million 1259 yards 8 tds

  • 7. Packers RB Aaron Jones: $12 million 799 yards 4tds

  • 7. Bengals QB Joe Mixon: $12 million 1205 yards 12 tds

seems to me zekes holding his own against those in his money category yet Zeke still leads the league in yards and scrimmage yards since 2016.. odd hater fans cant see this..lol so hes not 2016 Zeke ilt take 2018 Zeke , even 19 Zeke before Moore and this offense changed.

Elite overall.
Since he came into the NFL he has the most rushing yards and top or near the top in rushing and receiving yards. Amongst other categories.
The last 2 years are odd ball seasons.
No Dak one year, and 2 years of make shift OL's, injured knee.

Let's see if he bounces back this season, as it has been reported by everyone he has had a great TC.

If he struggles, then yes time to move on. if he looks very good, restructure.
Why do we cry over spilt milk, Zeke will perform as this OL performs.
Give Zeke some running lanes and this is an improved running game.
Zekes not going anywhere this season so lets hope that he is averaging 5.5 yds per behind the Big strong Rook.

Toddler is the issue, but they want to ignore that.

hence why i said questionable....he was 7th in the league in yards last season with the second fewest attempts of the top 7, that means his yards per carry were 2nd of the group and he had the 3rd most tds of the group....those are borderline stats for elite (if you define as top 3-5) at his position.

In addition, he is an excellent pass blocker and a well balanced player.

Hate him or love him, the numbers last year say he is still boarder line elite when compared to his peers....overpaid yes, but statistically speaking hes near the top.
My point is this is a league where RB and elite don’t really go in the same sentence.

apparently, Jones isnt the only one.

thin addition many under hat making 7-10mil also not high producers. so if zeke has nice year and restructures for 7mil around where Fournette and others are, why is that big deal?

NO because no guarantee he would be there again trying to change history one pick starts a change all the way down. Sorry cant use that nonsense on me..odd Jags were ok letting Ramseys go i mean hes the shizzle and yet they let him walk.,irony is I think, and they also went and got a rb high in the draft..

just stop..
Why are you geeking out over a possible scenario?:huh:I am bringing it up because there where people who make decisions for the Cowboys that really liked Ramsey. The Cowboys needed a running back. Guess who was available at 34. I don’t see how that would have changed.

"Run the damn ball" is what toddler needs to do this year and let Zeke get his carries. If you feel like he is overpaid, im not going to debate that.
If he was as good as his contract suggests, they would feed him all game long.

When it results with 3rd and longs, not so much.

why are you still hanging onto the past, like so 2016?? ridiculousness

id say you are geeked out given im in the present and you are in the past making up hypotheticals pulled so deep out of your butt, well its about full of what else comes out of there.:lmao2::clap::espn:

Yes Ladies and Gentlemen this is why you don't draft a RB with the 4th pick and then give in to them by paying them a record breaking second contract.

Our free agent RB's have looked very good for cheap this preseason.

Meanwhile how's that contract for Zeke looking now?

Not saying the backups are as good as Zeke, but when you compare their contracts to their abilities

I would take the rookies.

You could take the salary difference and shore up other areas of the team.

The Cowboy's situation at RB really shores up the notion that you don't draft RB's early and or give them

enormous second contracts.

Its all about the Oline. You can see quite plainly that the backup Oline is getting a great push in these preseason games. Knocking the dline 1 and 2 yards off the ball. When that happens, even scrub RB's can get yards. This what Zeke has done his entire career. But when the line doenst block, he does nothing. Dumbest thing in the world is to draft RB's high or pay them. Heck giving a back 80% of the carries is ridiculous. Unless you have someone like Taylor. Which Zeke isnt close to. Even then you should protect the back and not give him 80%.

ugh enough about Zeke and his contract already

He'll be gone after this season and no one will be complaining about his contract then because the bulk of his enormous salary won't ever be paid to him. .

Does elliot have a bad contract, yes.

Is it as bad as Christian mccaffrey,no

Is Elliot still an elite rb, questionable

Can Elliot still get hard yard and make a big difference, 100%

Bottom line is zekes time with the team is winding down and they will get as much out of him this year as possible...he overpaid but the hard yards are also underappreciated

Zeke Elliott is 1000% not an elite RB. He is NOT even close.

And sometimes it is just nonsense. And an overly repeated topic.

And sometimes its true and thats why it keeps getting repeated. When the pundits and most of the fan base agree, thats when you are all alone. Like you are on Zeke. There is still a handful of Zeke faithful that think Zeke is still a top 5 back. He isnt. Heck Pollard continues to outshine him when given the chance.

Pollard is not Zeke's replacement, not even close.
Not this year or next.
Zeke is 1000% the best RB on the team.

You are to Zeke as Pappy is to Dak.
Give it a rest, it is a tired and worn out Schtick.

Sorry to tell you but his statistics make him a top 3 to 5 which is borderline compared to his peers.

NO, his number of carries do. Most of his statistics do not. His RB ypc averages and efficiency statistics some of them are in the 30's when compared to other backs.

Only thing elite about Zeke is how many times our coaching staff hands him the ball. There are very few backs anymore that actually get 230 or more carries a year. Most RB's operate in a RB by committee.

Anyone watching the Cowboys sees that even Pollard is the better runner when given the chance.

True, but most pundits agree with CowboyRoy on both Dak and Zeke. You are the one that is alone in your thinking that Zeke is an elite RB worth his salary that should continue to dominate the touches over Pollard.

Like with Garrett, Heath, Taco and other players that continue to hurt this team, I will NEVER STOP!!! Its my right as a Cowboys fan to put the team in front of the player. I support the team, not the player.

And last time I checked, this wasnt a FAN CLUB, but a discussion forum.
