I would be more than happy to see the Cowboys sign Dak to franchise tag, trade him for what you can get in draft picks this year or next year and once that tag money is off the books cut the dead weight of Zeke and Smith and go into the following year of 2022 with a ton of money and Field only 1 year into his contract. If Amari plays like he has then he can go the following year and save us money in 2022 as well, or if anything June 1st cut Zeke and Smith.

Might suck again next year, but you'd have a ton of flexibility in the cap to make big changes in 2022 and let these guys who aren't deserving of their pay go.

I mean, that’d be a bold move (to draft Fields and trade Dak) but there is some cost savings there. Amari is likely good as gone after 2021 in my opinion; the cap savings are too great and we have other alternatives.

All that said, Belicheck would do that. Jerry wouldn’t.
