Running game?

What in the heck happened to the running game early in the game? I kept yelling at the TV "run the gd ball". We need to establish the running game in the first quarter, even if we only pick up a yard per carry. This is what wears their defense down and allows us to do whatever we want in the later part of the game. I know Big Bill overdid the run, but I hope our new offensive boy genius doesn't end up getting too cute and forgetting how dominant our O-line can be.
