I need a routine that won't plateau me, I'll start doing the same routine and post results.

I've just started to work cardio back into my workout. It's amazing how out of shape I am. I want to build more muscle but burn fat so it's a little tricky. I try not to do cardio for more than 30 minutes. I think I will run and do abs on days when I am not lifting.

My schedule is similar to yours though. Lift one day, run one day, lift one day, run one day, etc. I don't like breaking it down by week though, at least not right now.

Are you trying to lose weight or just get back into a healthier lifestyle??

Good for you man. No rest day?

I hate running so much but I think it's what I need in my life to get rid of this last 10 lbs. I do cardio 4 days a week plus lifting and my eating just hasn't been what i'd like it to be on the weekends.

Im thinking if I can run 4 miles on the weekend I can get by with my weekend eating.

I need to start running again. Last year I ran and lifted 5 days a week. Right now I'm just majority lifting haha. I don't really lift to bulk up though, I keep it pretty light. I just need to get back in the running routine.

If you diet properly, no extreme diets, and incorporate cardio you should def be able to lost 10 lbs within 6 weeks, even less if you're disciplined.

That is funny i went with no rest for like two weeks finally through a day of rest in there and I lost another 2lbs and my last three workouts have been stronger. My new plan is 6 days take a break and then start the cycle over again.

I am working on a goal of 50lbs by the end of the year. I am down 13lbs in 6 weeks. My overall goal is 80lbs in two years.

I got into a powerlifting regimen for a couple years and while I gained a lot of muscle just way too much mass. Im 5-10 and I was up to 235. Now I am at 214. I wanna get to around 200 which is gonna be hard. My diet has been very restricted. I was always the basketball athletic type and thats what Im getting back into approaching 40 in january. The mass weight is getting old.

Damn! 5'10 235 lbs is BIGGGG! I've always been skinny my whole life but I've finally put on weight, I'm 6'4 230 lbs. I thought I was getting bigger but after hearing that I feel skinny again!

Wouldn't it be in your best interest to focus on cardio and diet while cutting out the lifting completely for a while?

Well it was mostly muscle. I kinda have the fullback build. Yea ur right though I have been doin way more cardio and just light circuit lifting.Im thinking 200 would be a very good weight for me. From goin from 235 to 215 I def see a huge difference in cuts and what not.I just felt too bulky. Watch u dont get caught in that bulking trap. I did.Plus all those heavy squats and deads are a bit much when u r almost 40 lol

I figured it was mostly muscle. You were big boy! lol

Do you ever use those rubber bands? Those are pretty good for just keeping muscles hard and toned. I especially like them for circuit training since it's so easy to go from one exercise to the next without taking a break.

Honestly, I can afford to get stuck in the bulking trap for a while. I have a lot of room for muscle because I am so tall and also because I have been so skinny most of my life with relatively no muscle or frame. I think I will cut out some carbs and low rep exercises in a month or two though. I think a good weight for me will be like 215-220. If I wasn't unemployed I would bulk up way more but I can't afford to buy new clothes and most of my clothes barely fit as it is because I've outgrown them lol

Yea the bands are great. I use them for bench sometimes. Like today I did chest and legs. I did 4 sets of lunges with 50s alternating with semi incline bench only up to 225 then back down. Then did some extension both sides. Then I went for a bike ride and my legs are fried.lol. Tommorow gonna be 95 and I gotta run should be fun.

I run 10k every 2nd day and do fartlek training along with light weights the days between (hehe i said "fart"). I run on trails because of the softer impact on the joints and swear by NB's "Minimus" line of trail runners. They're really light but as long as you're not running over gravel or lava your feet won't hurt because of the thin outsole.

Apparently I do fartlek training too. I've meet heard that name before. A new name should be applied though. I'm way too immature to tell people I do fartlek training without cracking a smile.

Been running 3 miles, 4 times a week for several years now. Pushups, situps, lunges, curls, and some military press 3 days a week (both on 1 day) and Saturday's off.

I am such a creature of routine. I really should change up the workout.

5'11 - 160 right now which is 5-8 pounds low for me because of work stress.
